I was getting package quotes for June from AAA and the WL quote was for a woods view room. When I asked for a quote for the standard room they said and I quote "At Wilderness Lodge the Woods View room is the Standard Room at this resort." When I go on WDW's site there is a standard room option and a woods view option for different prices. When I run the numbers off WDW site and what AAA gave me, the AAA package price appears to be roughly 10% off the woods view room price from the WDW site plus normal price on dinning and tickets. Is this a case where the lowest room class for the AAA package at that time is the woods view or does the woods view price become the standard in the summer or has something changed that I have not heard about?

I just got back from the WL. I thought there were standard rooms and woods view rooms. As I recall, there was a definite difference in price between the two when I made my reservations way back in July. However, when we got there, we were upgraded to a courtyard view room, and our friends were upgraded to concierge.:)

yeah, that is an error. there are definitely standard rooms which are different from woods view. the standard view rooms are located on the first 'branch' (if you think of the V as having 3 stages or branches on each side) facing the magic kingdom. they look out over the loading bay and rubbish bins but if you get above the 4th floor, you can get views of the fireworks. there are also standard rooms on that first branch on the other side, facing the villas area, on the first two floors (higher than that and they become woods view too). there is a map on disboards which shows which rooms are which view. we booked a standard view for our stay jan/feb, and were upgraded to a gorgeous woods view room down the very end of the 3rd branch near the lake = very cool!
