I am trying to add a countdown clock and I go through the process posted by Andrew and try to preview and it just shows the words--not the countdown. I have lots of "no"s at the bottom of my User Control Panel (no posting images in signature, no img code, etc.)--is this why this isn't working? If so, how do I qualify to get these items changed?

There aren't any restrictions on editing signatures or adding countdowns (except that you may only have one countdown at a time). You should be following the instructions here (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=73208), starting at the edit signature (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/profile.php?do=editsignature) page.

Never mind. I was wrong and Andrew was faster than me!

well (I thought) I had followed those instructions . . . . was flipping back and forth between two windows because when I try to print out the instructions it cuts off the right side.

When I previewed the signature I just saw the code.

I will try it again . . . .

oK--sorry to be dense, but I went through the process and this is what I ended up with, but when I previewed it just showed this again--what am I doing wrong?

aarrrrggggg: I am going to try again taking off the brackets so maybe it will show up this time (took off brackets at beginning and end)

Fixed it for you. The correct code is:
Countdown to Birthday Trip to Disneyland!

You also need to make sure "Show your signature" is checked when you post.
