I am planning my daughter's 2nd birthday at Chef Mickey's in November. We will have about 25 people total, a mixture of adults and different aged children. I am planning to do the character breakfast, but am at a loss as to what time I should set it up for. I initially thought mid morning would work out easier for guests who were traveling (up to 1 1\2 hours-we live in Tampa, FL) to get there, but from everything I've read here it seems that an earlier morning breakfast time may cut down our chances of a wait.
Also, does anyone know if they will set it up with a more secure reservation than the "priority seating" due to it being an "event"? I'd hate to think of that many people waiting around for our table. Despite it being in the morning, I am planning to have them prepare a cake for the party as well.

We're going to be staying on property for the weekend (Wilderness Lodge as we have family that will be RVing it at the campground)-the party will be on Saturday morning and we'll be going to Magic Kingdom on Sunday. Any other suggestions for the birthday weekend are welcome-I am an avid Disney girl but this is my first child and it is the first time we are taking her to MK.

I think you saw this answer (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showpost.php?p=1192876&postcount=21) in the other thread.
While I am not sure of what number to call for group dining, give the normal ADR line a call and ask them for the number if nothing else.
404-WDW-DINE.

Agreed with the comments in the other thread that it would be a good idea to arrange for an earlier to mid-morning ADR. Also, I am not sure about seating your party until everyone shoes up - so you may want to set an expectation with your partygoers to arrive early. If nothing else, these details and be brought up with the CM that makes your arrangements.

Others might have ideas on how to do this as well. The above are just the first thoughts that came to mind.

first, secure the the ADR at 180 days out at 7 am. you will have to use the group dining for that size if you're booking for all 25.

then, call the restaurant and speak to the manager that same day (although i'd probably wait until 9 or 10 am or something less intrusive for them). get an email address (each manager has their own disney.com email and try to keep as much of the details logged in emails). the number for Chef Mickey's should be 407-824-1520. if not, call 407-WDW-INFO, press 0 for an operator and simply ask to be transferred to Chef Mickey's.

if anyone can and will do anything for you, it's the restaurant manager. the fact that you're bringing in 25 people won't phase the corporate Disney to be blunt - CM's will fill up anyway.

otherwise the only way to guarantee anything is to book an event through disney catering and they will require that you have an on site stay before they'll even talk to you. they'll also be quite pricey depending on what you wanted to do, but that goes well and beyond dining at CM's.
