I am trying trying to gage when our next trip should be. I have gone to DL in June for two summers. It wasn't crowded (because the CA schools had not let out or barely let out). It wasn't hot, but then again it never feels that hot compared to the Texas Heat.

My kids won't start school until around August 24th. I have heard that the crowds aren't as heavy in August as they are in June. So... what do you think?

Oh yeah, this is for next summer, 2009.

June, June, June, you're probably used to heat but the local kids are still in school until mid-late June so if you could do early June I'd do that.


But then I hate the heat.

Even if I wanted to go the first part of June, my kids would have a fit. I have kids that like to go to the summer reading library. It is once a week for four weeks after school lets out. So, that leaves me the end of June.

I've been in both June and August, and it's both less hot and less crowded in June. I would definitely do June over August, any day!

If you are planning to avoid the crowds as much as possible I would do June! We were there in August, and Space and Splash still has 120 minute waits, as well, not to mention 3 and 4 hours for Nemo!

We did June in 2001 and it was the most crowded I had ever seen it in my life. We went on 3 rides in 2 days. It was AWFUL. That said, it was Grad week, so as long as it was really early June...

I went in August 1998 and while crowded, it was manageable. It was a bit hotter, but I didn't mind (more pool time). We went right after most kids were in school, so late August.

I would have to say June too. We went in August and during the weekdays and it was not crowded at all, but it was very hot and humid. June tends to be more mild, and you might hit some June gloom, but you just need a light jacket when that happenes. We were soooooooooo tired out by the heat.
Try also to go during the week - what a difference!!!!!!

Well when I've been researching August (we decided on September though) - I found cheaper prices started August 18th...we would have gone from the 18th until just before the labor day weekend. I was able to get the $59 entertainment rate at Hojo's beginning on the 18th! So it would mean to me that it will be less crowded then.

I wouldn't necessarily pick June over August because of heat. June can be hot and humid and you can have relatively cooler days in August. You can also get boatloads of APers in the parks in June, before the summer blockouts start.

I hope August is OK. Me and DH (no kids :D) are going the only weekend in the summer our AP's are OK. August 22-24 :)

If that's the first weekend So Cals aren't blocked or the first Saturday that Deluxe aren't blocked expect bigger than usual crowds, you're not the only one that is looking at blackout weekends :D
