Is there a way to find out in advance what the schedule is for in-park extra entertainment? Even a schedule from past weeks just to get an idea of what's usually offered?
We just happened upon a Dixieland jazz band playing in New Orleans Square a few years ago, and are craving seeing their whole set on our upcoming trip in April.
Just generally, I'd like to see as much live entertainment as possible out there because the quality of the performers is AMAZING! I guess they're all Hollywood Hopefuls.
Thanks in advance for your help,

Have you tried checking out the calendar on the Disneyland website.

Yeah, I looked but now since I clicked on your link, I see that it's just too early for it to be up on the DL site for my dates.
That's great! Walt Disney World *never* publishes entertainment online other than their big parades and fireworks shows. I just assumed DL didn't either.
I guess I'll keep checking back for April.

and actually, they won't either. through april is up too. on the calendar, there's a spot to select your start date and how many days you're staying at the resort and it will spit out all the info (i know it's there because i'm going to be there late april myself)
there's a lot that's identified as 'unpublished' but virtually everything operates on a time schedule, you just wouldn't know it from the disney calendar or the times guides in the park.
DLR cast members should carry on their person something called a cast member reference guide (i believe that's the right name for it, at WDW it's called a tell-a-cast). it has detailed listings of many of the entertainment schedules which should include things like the side street strutters for example. if you can't find a CM willing to share that 'spontaneous' information, you can also try asking at city hall for specifics.
