Lets start a thread about the things you have found to be a great asset, or soemthing to do, or your kids always have to do......
Pretty much just a great list!! I would like some ideas for our next trip in Oct.

Bring snacks in little ziplocks. The smell of the yummy stuff is too tempting. You can choose more healthy things, and, save money.
Water bottles w/ sportcaps.
Rest. Either let them nap in their strollers in a nice peaceful area { off the beaten path} or go back to the hotel for the nap and a dip in the pool.
Do Fantasyland first. You can walk onto rides practically.
Take a lot of pictures!! Do you think your four year old could handle a disposable camera? You might get a lot of bad pictures but the few that come out would be priceless.
Have fun. :)

Water, water, water, .......freeze a couple bottles the night before, so that as they thaw you always have cool water....even in the Winter I found we needed extra water from all the walking..
Snacks are a MUST, avoid sugar highs and make everyones day nicer, fruits, crackers, string cheese all travel easy/well in a backpack,
Be aware of the kids 'energy' levels....the rest/down time is critical to the difference between a 'ok" and GREAT day....if you are going for several days, head back to the hotel mid day for down time, if you are there for ONE day then plan shows/slow rides mid day... the Aladdin Storytelling hour is wonderful to break the pace and the kids don't even realize they rested a bit, same with the Jungle Cruise or Small World, the Train is a terrific way to be doing something while NOT doing anything...
get a Disneyland Today at the gate, let the kids mark off the rides/attractions they have gone on thru the day
don't try for the "perfect" picture, be spontanous, some of my favs are when the kids were just 'being kids' and I managed to get it on film.
if you want the "perfect" picture with Mickey or Pooh, do it EARLY in the day before you and your kid/s are getting tired....the wait is usually longer for pooh than Mickey only because the wait for Mickey is inside his 'house' with stuff to look at. the wait for pooh is just a wait in a line near Splash .. unless he is over near Small World again but there is the same problem.... the wait is Just a wait...
save wear and tear on little legs (and older ones!) do a LAND then move on, don't ride Dumbo then head to Toon town then back to Peter Pan or over to Autopia then over to pirates then back to ride Casey Jr. ....... If your kids are small, hit fantasyland First thing, the walk thru the castle across the drawbridge is magical everytime, you can do the entire land in short order "IF" you get there at rope drop, later you wait the LONGER you wait.

One of my favorite columns was about what people carry in their diaper bags and backpacks. I had to search a bit to find it but
Here's an article with some of my favorite backpack tips (http://www.mouseplanet.com/akrock/ak010829.htm)
Here's a follow-up article with reader tips (http://www.mouseplanet.com/akrock/ak010921.htm)
I won't repeat everything I said here, but I think there are some great tips in those pieces :)
