Hope I've chosen the right place to put this...

The Disney website has finally allowed me to view my on-line reservation and it appears as part of our package we have preferred Illuminations/Wishes vieiwing once for each show. I've tried my best to find the detail of this on the somewhat frustrating Disney website but can only spot some small print saying subject to availability/advance booking. Can anyone explain what this entails and the ins and out of it? I could call but if you guys can tell me without another long distance call that would be great :) Thank you.

I'm not sure but it sounds great.

If you want me to, I can call for you and PM you the information.

You could also ask them about it when you call next week for your ADRs.

(You get to call next week for your ADRs - I'm actually excited for you! :))

Thanks Jenn if I can't find out when I book the ADR's next week I'll get back to you :) It's interesting that no-one here seems to know the answer as we got this as part of our package I kind of assumed loads of people would also have it and know what it's all about. When you book on line you get absolutely nothing in writing from Disney at all though. We also get a $15 voucher for Hard Rock Cafe and a free round of minature golf.

To be honest, I have never heard of this combo package myself. I mean, many people know about the Fantasmic Dining Package, and that is talked about around here every once in a while. But I have not heard about the Illuminations package. (Of course, that does not mean anything other than its new to me.) Quite honestly, I would like to know more about an Illuminations package.

I have not been clear - it is not an illuminations package. We booked room, 14 day ultimatepark tickets and (free) DP on-line but when I paid the balance the page of the Disney UK website for viewing exisiting reservations was not available for ages. When it was I was able to see we got certain 'perks' as part of our package that I had not realised. Two are described as preferred viewing for Illuminations and Wishes (once each). However, I can't find the detail anywhere about what this means. There is some small print about booking in advance from what I recall. I just thought if we got it with our on-line booking everyone who books on-line would get it. I didn't realise it was part of our deal when I booked.

I just called. We can book these benefits 90 days in advance. We will receive what I imagine is a voucher for preferred Illuminations viewing (9pm) and the sectioned off area is on the Morocco boat landing. I can picture where this is and am happy it sounds like a decent spot. At MK for Wishes I was told 6pm, sounds a bit early for Wishes? Anyway, the spot we get was described as the Plaza landing and I think the lady said the corner of Coke Street (not sure, was having a few accent problems). I can't work out where this is or if it's a good spot or not. She said numbers are limited and it will save us waiting an hour to stake out a good spot to watch from. Oh, and I can choose any day we are away to do each of these, so long as availability isn't an issue.

I agree, 6 sounds VERY early in August for fireworks. I THINK I know where that might be. As you're heading to the castle from Main street - to the right you go by the ice cream shop on the corner, and the other restaurant I can never remember next to it, before going to the Tommorrowland Noodle Terrace and 'short cut' to Tomorrowland - I think it's to the left down by the water. Oh, except that's a smoking area. Maybe there are two areas near there? But that would be my guess on where it is.

I think the Illuminations area is a great one.

If your trip is in August, there is no way Wishes could be presented before 9pm. It doesn't get dark till around 8:30 or so.

I just looked at the August schedule and they have Wishes as 10pm every night of the month.
As to where you are going to be standing it sounds like it might be in front of the Ice Cream shop/Resturant, both called the Plaza, on the corner of Main Street and were the path is to the Noodle Station. I looked on the maps and the only labled street is Main Street so I don't know if that is Coke Street or not.

That's what I thought - the CM on the 'phone was a bit flustered when I got all type A and asked for specific details so I'm guessing the 6pm thing was a duff answer!

hmmm is that part of the package only for the UK residents? Being a US resident we get all those other perks and I would rather that one over everything else.

So, I called at exactly 90 days out for the Wishes preferred viewing and then again at 90 days out for the Illuminations viewing. Got a slightly different story both times... For Wishes I was given a number, like for an ADR, and advised to arrive 15 mins early at the pavillion of the Plaza Restaurant (?) and for Illuminations was also given a number and advised to arrive 15 mins early at the Morocco Boat Landing. This time I was told we would receive a voucher through out TA for our VIP viewing experience!! When I said I'd booked on line I was advised it will come through the post, if not, collect it at the Hotel. Am very excited at not having to bag a spot an hour in advance for these shows!!

For USA packages, they are now included in the "Premium Plan". One voucher for each viewing per person, both MK and Epcot, reservations 90 days out since space is limited. You present your voucher to the cast member when you check in, they will have you on the reservation list.

Not many clients book the Premium or Platinium Plans, but they are available for any package booking.

Well, I guess that explains why we didn't get anything about that with our package. We'll be there Dec 21-30th... Wonder if I can weasle them into giving me some when I call for ADRs since it will be our 10th wedding anniversary and my college graduation... :D

Considering you're going the busiest week of the year and you're obviously not booking the UK package (since you're location is listed as Las Vegas), I'm not sure it'll do you much good.

Oh man! <sigh> I have to admit. I really don't care - I'm just ecstatic that we're going for 10 days!

(And, yah, booked from Vegas, couldn't fool the system... or you. :D)
