Why would ****by be censored. Reading a post, and someone said that ****by was censored. Why? I have not been able ot find a definitionfor it in the dictionary, it is just the last name of the Mayor of Springfield on the Simpsons.

If you opened up a slang dictionary and search for the part of that name that got censored you would quickly realize why. I'll let you figure it out for yourself...
Most of the words on the censored word list are slang that you've probably never heard of.

I had to seek outside help on this one too, but now that I know what it means, I see why it's sensored. When was that termed used anyway? I've NEVER heard it.

Kids these days - don't you read any of the classics?
I recall rather liberal use of the term scattered throughout the works of the Marquis De Sade. English translation though, so I can't say for sure if it was common usage since the 18th Century.
However this website (http://www.geocities.com/etymonline/q1etym.htm) attributes its first use to 1613.

The Mayor of Springfield may be a crook, but he doesn't deserve to be censored. Quimby's name can now be spoken far and wide! **** (Q-U-I-M) is still on the list, however.
18th century slang can be said on Nick Jr. nowadays.
