My kids reported today that Xcelerator was listed as closed at Knott's.

Seems like there have been a lot of problems recently - last couple of times over the last two weeks I have been by there it was not running and a couple of weeks ago when we were there it ran for only an hour or two all evening ........

It was running on Tuesday when I was there. I hadn't been to Knott's in about 15 years, and the park certainly looked very different. I was with a friend who doesn't like coasters and my daughter who isn't quite old enough for coasters. Therefore, the only "fun" ride we went on was the Log Ride. I couldn't even get them to go on Ghostrider with me...and even though I could've gone by myself, it was sort of a family outing, so we just did lots of stuff together...we ended up spending a lot of time at Camp Snoopy.

Those coasters look awesome...I'm not sure I could do Xcelerator, though. There was a time when you wouldn't be able to hold me back...now that I'm an old fuddy duddy mom, I'm not sure I can handle that anymore!

Well, my opinion is that you are lucky you didn't convince them to ride Ghost Rider. It kicks butt!!

I know people either love it or will not ride it again. My son rode it with me, since I hadn't ridden it before. When we got off, he asked me if I would ride it again. I told him NO!! He said, Okay, I won't ride it again either. I just rode it for you.

What do you think is the problem? I am assuming your kids have annual passes to Knott's? Do they like going often? When then have ridden the coaster, do they like it? Or is it too much of a thrill?

I like Jaguar for the little guy. Especially on a summer night when they have the fire on. Do they still do that?

It was up and running this tuesday, aug 20.

Their show schedule was weired. On tuesday, half of the regular shows were not shown. No firework either. If I knew it ahead of time, I would have gone on either Monday or Wednesday.

More, I tried Mrs. Knotts' fried chicken resturant. Sorry friends, I was not impressed at all. The portions were huge and the service was very good.
