Disneyland Hotel Jan 31. feb 1,2
Dreams Tower
cast: me dd(6), ds(2), dh my parents, brother, sis, their kids (2) (3m)

We splurged on this trip and stayed at the DLH. I have to say I was very nervous after the reviews on this board, but i shouldn't have been. The hotel was wonderful!
We arrived early Thursday morning(8am) to find that our rooms where ready, they had my DD and DS birthday baloons and pins ready. We reserved Ap5 standard rate of 159.00. My parents reserved pool view @ 189.00. Since we wanted our rooms together they upgraded ours for free. The rooms were great, we were in the dreams tower, 5th floor. They were very very clean and spacious. Both rooms had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch. More than enough room for everyone. i loved the disney touches everywhere!! We had an amazing view of the neverland pool. We used our early entry and headed for the park. The tower we were in was the best b/c it was closer to DTD. The walk to the park wasn't bad, you don't notice how long it is, b/c there is so much to look at. I would stay there again in a heatbeat even if i pay full price for it. Think of it like anything else at disneyland- the price is inflated because it's disney. It felt like we never left the park, i loved it.
Crowds weren't bad thursday, we did FL,PFF, and TL before lunch.then went over to CA. we had PS for ariel's at 4;20. We did the kids birthday party there,we orderd birthday buckets, but they were out of boy ones!So that was sad, but he didn't notice so much because he kissed Cinderella and he loves her!!!
We looked forward to swimming that night since the park closed at 8:00. Well the only thing i didn't like about the hotel was that the spa was only luke warm. It was nice for the kids i guess, but i really wanted to soak my soar legs!! Oh well!
Friday we finally won fast passes!!!! I was so excited. My dd was finally tall enough for splash, so we thought we'd go.(now neither me or dh had been on since before she was born - 6 years) we forgot how wet we got! poor DD was so soaked we had to but her a new outfit! on the way out of splash the dream team was passing out the fast passes! So that made getting wet worth it! Friday night we ate at goofy's kitchen and I have to say we loved that too. It was our first time there, and the interaction there is so worth the money. the food wasn't all that bad either. much better than ariels.
We went for a few hours Sat. then headed home. The trip was everything we hoped it would be and more. I can't wait for the ap rates to come out for the fall!!!!

That sounded like a really fun trip, I have to agree that Goofy's Kitchen is great. Definetely one of the best character meals offered at Disneyland.

Sounds like you had a great time! All the extras is exactly what makes spending the extra money to stay at the DLH worth it.

I agree with everything you said about the Disneyland Hotel! We stay there every time and absolutely love it....especially the Dreams Tower!

That's so cute that your son kissed Cinderella! Hope you got a picture! :)

We were there the same time as you on the 6th floor of the Dreams Tower. We also reserved a standard room and got upgraded to a DTD view. Our room was quite large with two queens and the sleeper sofa. We won fastpasses on Fri. as well coming off of Tarzan's Tree house. DS went up in it and we were waiting for him at the bottom.......well I looked over and saw the dream crew and hollered at DH to "get in the treehouse!" Sounds like we both had a great trip.

Yep! The DL Hotel is heaven! We stay there every trip primarily because of the magic and the theming! You never have to leave the magic! We have no kids, but we are big, retired kids;) so we have the time of our life! Did you get the opportunity to walk through the waterfalls and see the koi ponds? Next trip, even if you do not stay there, take the walk over to the grounds and see them. They are beautiful and awesome photo backrounds!
I am so glad you enjoyed the DL Hotel! It really is a fun place to stay. And we LOVE the character interaction at Goofy's Kitchen! Goofy always remembers us every trip, cause we stay in the DL Hotel and eat at GK pretty often. It is close and has great food and lots of fun times with the characters. I am a big sap for the characters.:fez: We have sooooooo... many pics of us with characters. Fun for the scrapbook!
See ya at the DL Hotel!:D

We were on the 11th floor of Dreams on the Neverland Pool side from 1/29-2/2, then moved to a room on the DtD side for 2 nights. The best part of a room on the DtD side of Dreams tower up high, is that you can watch the fireworks from your room and they have a channel that plays the soundtrack on the TV! Very cool! It was my birthday as well, not gonna tell ya how old, let's just say that I have seen 25 at least twice and a little!!!! ;)

Thanks for the heads up on the Disneyland Hotel! We will be there for a week next month and I seriously do not know what to expect! But from the sound of both of your experiences, I cannot wait!

CHEERS! ;)

I am so confused about the Disneyland Hotel. I have never seen such a polarized opinion of a hotel before.

It seems like the feedback is more positive lately, though.

FolsomFan--With 900 rooms some seem to have por experience, whereas others, like our family, had a great room and great experience. Luck? Timing? Going when the place is filled to capacity seems to correlate to less satisfied visitors. Our room was exactly like the one shown in the DL website room tour. All was A-OK.
