Hi we are discussing our vacation plans (not till May 2003) and were wondering what is better the land and sea or the 7 night cruise? We have never been on a cruise and it would be a nice change for us. We always vacation at Disney every year and I would like to do something different this time.:)

Looking at the descriptions, it just depends on what you're after. If you want a Disney World vacation with a taste of cruising afterwards, go for the Land & Sea. If you want the full cruise experience, go for the 7 night cruise.

My husband and I did the Land/Sea Cruise...on the Disney Magic. BUT...neither of us had been to WDW before...nor had I been on a cruise (he had). So, we wanted to experience both.
If you go to WDW all the time, you might just want to do the 7 day cruise. The Disney ships are great, and there is plenty to see and do. In fact, I wish I could go again, because I would do the 7 day cruise, so I could see more of the ship. I only wish they would go to Castaway Cay more than one day...that place was great...we could have easily spent more time on that island.
Nasau was ok...but going over to the resort Atlantis on Paradise Island is what made that stop memorable...(I even got a Emerald ring from there...it's beautiful...a nice birthday gift from hubby dear, along with the trip).
Again, like GD said...it's what you decide you want to do. But if I had been to WDW withen the past 2 years, I'd just go on the cruise...
my .02 worth here.

Thanks mad4monkey. We have been to Disney twice within the last year thats why i want to do something a bit different but still have the disney touch so i think we are aiming for the 7 night cruise.

Okay, folks, wish me luck! We've decided to sell our house and move into a new house...if we can get this all done by early November, it looks like I'm going to be able to vacation in Florida this November/December!
I would love to do the 4 night cruise along with a 7 day WDW stay (okay, this will be my first time in Florida...I want to do it right!).
Wish me luck!

Hi!
It sounds like you be a perfect candidate for a Disney cruise!
It is a lot like the Disney resorts, with the legendary Disney service, lots of Disney characters, some of the best entertainment shows in the evening on the sea. You move from restaurant to restaurant each night, but your same dining steward moves with your table - each night and restaurant with a different theme. Of course, there is Castaway Cay, Disney's private island, with activities and beaches for kids and teens and a private beach for adults. Cruises are great because you get to visit several different locations without having to pack your suitcase and fly to each place. People love the new Western Caribbean itinerary! Also, Disney does a great and very detailed job of keeping children safe and matched with their adults, too.
Be sure to book early - Disney works on tiered-pricing and when the least expensive rates are sold out, they are gone. People book their Disney cruises several months in advance.
Have fun!

We are going in Sept '03 on the Western cruise. Between Cozumel and Grand Cayman, which has the better snorkeling?

Hi!
I don't think you can go really wrong with either Cozumel or Grand Cayman! I am going on the Western Caribbean itinerary in early November and the DCL shore excursions have just about anything and everything you could ever want to do...amazing!
Cozumel is a classic, legendary diving spot. The surrounding sea is filled with those colorful tropical fish, the amazing reefs, old Spanish ships. Most of the reefs are great places to dive.
Grand Cayman's diving is also world class, but is less discovered by the crowds than Cozumel. Seven Mile Beach is on the developed West Coast. But, there are smaller beaches, too, where you can avoid the crowds. Of course, there is also the Cayman Wall, and Stingray Cay is the place to go to interact with relatively calm stingrays.
Have fun!
