We are going to WDW in June. I have planned a pirate cruise for my son and a segway tour for my husband as a surprise. I am thinking about keeping the secrets until we are at the World. I would like to make an invitation for each of them to reveal their treats. Is it possible for me to ask the resort to set out the items I bring while we are out one day, so that they can find them when we return? How would I go about arranging this?

you can try the lobby concierge and ask if they can have a runner do something for you. you can also try to arrange it through housekeeping, although i'd prefer the former.

just in case the concierge does not follow through on your request I would have a back up plan to give them the surprise yourself so you and they are not disappointed. the only reason i say this is that mr motomickey has tried to surprise me at several hotel visits (disney and del coronado--so very high end hotels) and have had the surprises he arranged never happen....but they sound wonderful so hope everything works out great for you:)

The one I booked for my 8 year old is out of POR. The kids go on a boat ride and look for treasure. They get lunch at the end. The previous descriptions called it a jester cruise, but when I called to book it, the lady called it a pirate adventure. Also when I called I was expecting it to be in the afternoon, but it is now at 9:30 and lasts 2 hours. We are staying at French Quarter, which is why I picked this particular one. There are similar offerings at other locations around Disney World. We have never tried it, but it looks like fun. I'll let you know when we return if it was a hit!

There is always the, "Oops, I forgot....(or need to go potty since no one else can do that for you) and need to run back to the room I'll catch up to you at the bus." Then put them out.
