Just curious ... what's the one place you MUST eat when you go to WDW ... counter, table service or for a snack? And what do you order?

I must have a mickey premium ice cream bar (the one shaped like mickey's head) and I must get a dole whip a couple of times a trip. As for restaruants, there are so many that I have not tried that I want to sample lots of new things. But the frozen treats are non-negotiable. :D

The Mickey ice cream bar was my first choice, too. Doesn't matter where, but I have to have it!

Flaming Tree BBQ in AK? Ooh... I'm going to check that out. Is it anything like Bengal BBQ in Disneyland??

Not really. Nothing on skewers.

Here's the page (http://www.mouseplanet.com/guide.php?pg=BFE401) about it from the park guides, and since it's short, here's the text about the menu:The menu at Flame Tree Barbecue is very much to the point. For main dishes you can either have bbq ribs or bbq chicken. If you want something a bit lighter you can also get beef, pork, or chicken sandwiches. All of these come with baked beans and corn on the cob. If you're just looking for a snack, the seasoned fried (with cheese) or onion rings are popular as well. I think the beef and pork sandwiches are both 'pulled' (or at least that's what I'm remembering).

Snack - A Dole Whip in Adventureland

Counter Service - Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland - good food and I love Sonny!

Table Service - Kona Cafe - great food, and an excuse to visit the Poly

On the last trip (first time there), money got too tight, too fast, so I was not able to experience all the things that I wanted to check out. We ended up doing a lot of counter service & meals at the hotel food court.
But we did do breakfast at Chef Mickey's and ice cream at Beaches & Cream, and I intend to go back there again!

I don't think there are any Disney restaurants that I try to do EVERY trip. I visit a couple times of year, and try to mix things up as much as possible. But I do enjoy the Flame Tree BBQ in DAK and Cosmic Ray's in the MK (love that Sonny Eclipse!). And by far my favorite restaurant on the planet is the California Grill - the best beef tenderloin anywhere!

What has become a bit of a tradition for me is a Strawberry Bar on the way out of Animal Kingdom. It seems lately every time I've visited that park has been super warm, and the strawberry bar really hits the spot. Right before you go over the bridge to exit, there's a cart to the right. I buy it there, and usually finish it up by the time I get to the bus stop.

Plus it's not too high in calories, AND it has a couple grams of fiber!

I like to try different restaurants on each trip, if I can - though I DO like to get an apple turnover from Starring Rolls in the Studios, if my schedule works out for that.

I do have lots of favorites, but I try to have about 1/2 old standby's and 1/2 new choices each trip. However, a pattern has begun to emerge--

DTD--Raglan Road
Epcot--Rose & Crown (we went there on our honeymoon trip and have been back every trip since), Le Cellier, LeChefs de France (although we usually only get to R&C and EITHER Le C or LeChefs each trip)
MK--nothing. ick.
DHS--nothing specific
AK--another vote for Flaming Tree BBQ, and a tea from Royal Anandapur
Resorts--Beaches & Cream (Beach Club)
Cali Grill (Contemporary)
High Tea-Gardenview Lounge (Grand Floridian)
Boatwright's (POR) for breakfast

Snack--Beignets (POFQ); anything at Ghiradelli's; anything at the Patisserie in France (EPCOT); anything at the Norway Bakery (Epcot); Funnel Cake (USA-Epcot)

OK--I've just gained 30 pounds detailing all of that.

I HAVE to go to Crystal Palace every trip! It has changed drastically since I first went with my family in the early '80's, but, it isn't a Disney vacation without a dinner there!

We always eat at Pecos Bills at MK. Love the toppings bar. I have to have a brat in Germany and a margarita in Mexico. Dole whip at MK. Nothing particular at AK or HS.

MK Columbia Harbour House - hummus sandwich
EP Patisserie Boulangerie (sp???) - anything, but most likely an eclair
MGM Sci-Fi (I hear people groaning!) - whatever their current vegetarian entree is
AKL - Boma buffet

Yum!

Must eats at WDW:

MK: citrus swirl -- the oj and the vanilla ice cream are so incredibly complimentary!! Columbia Harbour House; carmel corn -- I think it's called Sleepy Hallow or something like that;

EPCOT: Le Chefs de France -- boy I love this place

DHS: Sci-fi -- it's the ambiance, I just love it! We usually do this for lunch though.

AK: well, nearby anyway, BOMA at AKL! Such a beautiful place and the food is fantastic.

The only thing I have to have is the School Bread.

And I like Biergarten as there are very few German restaurants here at home, but I don't have to go there.
