Whats the scoop on working for Universal Theme Parks? How do they treat their employees compared to Disney?

I applied for 2 positions at Disney: Imagineering (Burbank) and DLR (Anaheim)...lost interest in both due to a number of factors. It seems the recent trend in Burbank is to work contract. The other factor that turned me off was when I was told that 60+ hours was a typical work week. The factor that made me lose interest in WDI / DLR totally: the offered salary!

Let's see now.... you want me to work more hours for less money? That's a tough decision! (sarcasm)

I'm still interested, however in a job dealing with the design or maintenance of theme parks. (I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.)

How is it at USH?
