Hi Jenny - I'm having a bit of a problem understanding the second part of your post  Anyhoo I'd make one central point. There's lots of pounds difference between a vaule resort and the deluxes you mention - do you have budget in mind? For info there are reviews on this site, reviews, info sheets and 'photo tours on all ears and the official Disney site has info, photo tours and detail including room rate comparison for different seasons on all Disney hotels. Hope this helps!

I agree w/Scooby. The resorts you're asking about are WORLDS apart in budget. Values (All Stars, Pop Century) run about $100 a night (give or take) and the monorail rooms start at about $300+ a night.

If you go on line to disney.com, you can run a comparison to see what it would cost based on what day you're going (and it can vary quite a bit, even within the same week!).

Hope that helps!

The value resorts are motels with exterior corridors and the rooms are 260 sq ft with two double beds.

The monorail resorts are deluxe with interior corridors (so you have balconies unless you are on the ground floor where you have patios) and the rooms are 440 sq ft with two queens and a day bed. Also the monorail resorts have at least two table service restaurants and full menu room service.

Jeany,
Going off of what the others have said, you kinda need to look at what you want to do on your vacation. If you will be at the parks 99% of the time, you may not want to spend a lot of money at a resort that you will just use for a shower and a bed.

On the other hand, if you plan on really enjoying some of the features of the resort you will be staying at, then that is something to consider as well.

However, even with that said, there is a huge premium to pay when staying at the deluxe hotels that are on the monorail. There are advantages and disadvantages to all of them. Your traveling party will have to decide if it is really worth the extra cost.

At the same time, as mentioned you are looking at totally different ends of the price spectrum. Maybe consider widening your scope to some of the other hotels as well.

Maybe you can help fill us in on a few details about your traveling party and when you plan on going and for how long. Sometimes those details may help provide contributing factors that you have not yet considered.

To further confuse things for you, there are three classes of hotels on WDW property - value, moderate and deluxe. The All Star Resorts are values - the cheapest. The hotels on the monorail area all deluxes. What I suggest you do is pick up a couple of books - the Official Guide to WDW by Birnbaum and Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide to WDW. After reading both of these cover to cover, you'll know all you need to know about the parks, the resorts and the dining and recreation options. Then ask any specific questions here - we're always around and ready to help!

The hotels don't have their own websites. Just go to the Disney site.
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index

Or -

you can go to the User Reviews section on here for what people have to say about them.

you can go to http://allearsnet.com/index.html they have a ton of info as well.

There's also info on MousePlanet, under Walt Disney World, for each of the hotels, outside of the User Review section.

If your looking into a value resort I would suggest Pop Century due to they have there own busses. If you stay at one of the other 2 you have to share the bus system. I've stayed at Pop 3 times before my husband & I bought into DVC.

Our family hope to stay in the Disney's All-Star movies!

Why? What is it about that theme that excites you? There are 3 different value resorts, and almost everyone agrees that the Pop Century is the nicest of the three. It's much newer, the landscaping is much plusher, and the bus service is far superior. But if you're stuck on Movies, go for it!

My family stayed at All Star Movies and we loved it. The larger than life movie charactres are so much fun! Great photo opportunities! If this resort is attractive to you, go for it. You won't be sorry.
