Last night we added the Pirates and Princess Parade on 2/14 - that's the same night we had the Fantasmic pacakage booked at The Brown Derby so we cancelled it out and can't get another one for our trip.

Is there any chance (realistically) of getting a Fantamic Package at this point? Does WDW "hold" any back for release each day?

We got the Fantasmic Package eating at Hollywood and Vine on 2/13 just today. They also had 3:45 for the package at Brown Derby for 2/13. Just like you changed plans others may do likewise just keep checking.

My take is that if you call daily and be somewhat flexible, you might be able to get the package. You just never know. :)

We are going down in March and were able to get the package at Moma Melorose's. We have done this before and like there food.

You might try that. Good luck

If you are there the week that includes 2/14, if you go earlier in your trip, I'm not sure how 'crucial' the dining package would be. I only recommend earlier since the next Monday is President's Day, and as you get closer to that actual weekend, I'd expect crowds to pick up a little.

I'd just eat where I wanted to eat and skip the package. The seating with the package is way off to the side, and you'll likely do better just showing up standby.

the package just makes life easier. off to the side seating is a small price to pay for the ease of walking in the back door without waiting in a line. we managed to book a brown derby reservation for sat night so that will have to do.

...I agree. Took the package last month, but you could do better without it (...unless perhaps the MGM park is extremely crowded that day).

The package seating is off-to-side, and no better than normal seating. Got seated an hour before showtime and watched the stadium slowly fill up to capacity. Seats are narrow steel benches and rather uncomfortable. I could have easily gotten a good seat just walking in the normal gate about
20-30 minutes before showtime.

The show, of course, was very good.

I was also surprised at how good the food & service were at the Hollywood & Vine buffet.
Had tried to get the Brown Derby, but it was booked solid; saved some bucks on dinner, anyway.

I COMPLETELY agree. I hate, hate, hate standing shoulder to shoulder with all of humanity, waiting to be herded into the stadium. It made me absolutely nervous (no package--just with "everyone else."). Last trip, even though it was the off season, the place was still jammed because there's only 1 show per night in the off-season. I LOVED being able to show up at the back door, show the pass, and walk on. Yes, we were over to the side, but it was just great. I still think we saw everything.

When I go back, no matter WHEN, it will be with the package (Mama Melrose was great!)

To be honest. while I haven't been a fan of the reserved seating in the past (hey, reserved seating should be the BEST in the house, not the worst!), I haven't taken into account the side entrance. That does seem to be a nice thing. But then, as a single visitor, I can come in the main gate about 30 minutes before showtime and pick up a great seat in the central section. There's almost always the end of a bench somewhere that I can politely snag. And I agree with Jerry - the benches are NOT the most comfortable seats! But a martini to go from the Tune In Lounge really helps make it more comfortable!!!
