If you had to pick between the Character Breakfast at the Beach Club and the Character Breakfast at the Polynesian which would you choose? The kids want the Mickey waffles and it looks like each of these have them.

We're staying at the Wilderness Lodge so I know the Polynesian is closer to get to first thing in the morning...but if there are plenty more votes for Beach Club we wouldn't rule it out on location alone.

We are also planning the Crystal Palace breakfast and the Cinderella's Castle breakfast (I hope!) as well if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance!

I've only had the Polynesion character breakfast, and the food and service were good. It is not a buffet, but an all you can eat skillet "family style" breakfast.

I liked that we could catch the monorail straight to the MK right after breakfast. I suppose if you are already doing Crystal Palace and Cinderellas' at MK that maybe you would rather do the Beach club one morning so you can boat over to MGM or walk to Epcot from that hotel. Depends on what parks you are planning to visit.

By the way I heart Mickey waffles too. I know they aren't really any different than regular waffles, but something makes them taste better to me. :D

That seems like a LOT of character breakfasts. Have you considered maybe switching your Crystal Palace to Lunch or Dinner? They still had characters for that one.

I think I'd swap a couple of breakfasts for lunch time too. First thing is the best time to be on the rides before the queues become prohibitive. I do like the character meals though - sure you'll have fun whatever!

I've been reading reviews and it seems like the Crystal Palace breakfast gets better reviews than the lunch or dinner. Maybe I'm just over-analyzing this?:geek:

Our kids will be 3, 5, 7 at the time of visit and are definitley ALL about the characters. I like the idea of seeing as many as we can at a meal, as opposed to waiting in a line at the parks.

I appreciate any advice on the meals and whether breakfast, lunch or dinner makes much of a difference.

We are going November 2008 and I know I have a ways to go before making the ADR's but I'm having so much fun planning (some may call it obsessive :) )

For what it's worth, I've only done two character meals at WDW - both last spring when I was with my nephews and their parents (3, 8, and 10 at the time). We did Donald's Breakfast in AK (now moved to Tusker House) and Crystal Palace for lunch. I'm not a huge breakfast eater, so I really liked the lunch time, and the food, at Crystal Palace a lot more. Not that it was bad for breakfast, I just don't 'get my money's worth' at most buffets, let alone breakfast buffets.

We had an ADR for about 1, after getting into the park at opening, and we had a snack mid morning - and it was about perfect timing. I don't recall if we did more after lunch or just headed out for our break. We did have to wait some, but it was a busier time of the year.

I haven't been to CP for breakfast but we did have lunch there are were quite happy with it - actually after some of the reviews we read I was pleasantly surprised. The characters came around twice and they all stopped at the table for pictures. Piglet was especially good value. Our server there was really very nice too and made such a fuss of us it was almost embarrassing - (we're English though ;) ). I would also recommend Chef Mickey's - I think it was a dinner we had there. This was my son's favourite meal.

We've done both BC and Poly. There was more "action" at the Poly breakfast. However, this was before Lilo and Stitch (Mickey, Goofy, and Chip and Dale were there). Mickey even fed my dd eggs so she would eat! They had a parade for the kids (holding maracas) and I enjoyed the ambience a lot more. The food was good too!

A thought for planning, is to do the Crystal Palace breakfast on a day that is not an EMH day for the MK. They will let you in before the park opens (your name will be on a list they have at the gate), you can get through security, rent a stroller if you need one, and, if your scheduling is right, be done with breakfast, and well into the park when it opens. An AR one hour before park opening should do it, if you get to the park about 15 minutes before your breakfast AR. We did that once, and were, literally, among the first ones on our first ride, when most people were still in line to get into the park. We got several rides in, before most people were that far into the park. In fact, we were leaving that day, and had to be back at the hotel before noon, to get the bus to the airport, but our kids had done a lot of rides, and left satisfied by about 10:30. We've done Cinderella Castle for lunch, and that was actually a nice break in the day, and we liked the food better than the breakfast, too.

I'm new here and I couldn't figure out how to do the quotes:confused:So, mom22gals, Thank you! This is a great suggestion! I didn't realize that the princesses are at the lunch at the Castle. I thought we had to do breakfast there to see the princesses. So, we'll try for lunch there instead. I love the idea of doing the Crystal Palace breakfast before opening (on a non-EMH day).

I agree with what many have said about "breakfast overkill"...so we'll stick with two!:)

Which one for the second breakfast? How to decide? Anymore input or great ideas on how to link a breakfast with a successful morning at one of the parks?

Thanks again for the great ideas and shared experiences!:)
