I know there are guidelines for posting reviews and I see that many users follow a fairly standard format for trip reviews but I can't seem to find any posted rules?

I have a potentially loooong trip report, partly because I'm chatty but also because I've done a lot of planning. Is it okay to post a trip report that has long "pre" report section on planning in the trip report forum? I was planning on putting in a disclaimer so those who aren't planning obsessed could jump to the trip "action."

Just wondering; I don't want to post inappropriately or to the wrong forum.

I guess you could call it a "rule" but I like the terms "guideline" or "policy" ;)

"One thread per trip"

So if you have a long report, no problem. You can divide it up by posts. You can have several posts for each section of you like - so if you want to put a "pre-trip planning" section, go right ahead.

You can put subject titles on individual posts which would help readers identify what they're about to read. For example, I put "Adrienne's Answer" in the title section of this post. So it's "Adrienne's Answer" in the "Are there specific rules for posting trip reports" thread. There aren't any specific guidelines so you can title the different parts of your TR however you wish.

And then there's my favorite policy: "The Return Key/Paragraph breaks is/are your friend." But it looks like you already know that one. ;)

There are guidelines in the announcement thread at the top of the park forums. Here's a link to one of the announcements (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/announcement.php?f=6&a=52).
