View Full Version : Anyone on the February Countdown?
haypark mom 01-22-2008, 06:23 PM Anyone else out there "going home" in February? We arrive in California on Feb 23rd and don't have to leave until March 1st. I am so excited, I am so excited...did I mention I was excited?? :D I am hoping to miss the President's Day crowds and most of the Cheerleaders (not that you aren't all lovely people, but I want the off season park to myself - well, er, not to mention the other 14 people in my party!). Thank you so much to all of you who have been so helpful and full of the insiders' tips. I am bummed that I will miss Carnation Cafe (just saw today for the first time that it will be closed during my visit) but completely psyched for Splash Mountain (which was closed last year during my visit). Maybe we will see you at the park! ;)
TTFN92 01-22-2008, 07:47 PM We're not leaving in Feb. but we will be there in Feb. We're leaving Jan. 30th. Can't wait! My kids think it is so far away. I just hope I can get everything done by then :).
emmah 01-22-2008, 09:54 PM we'll be arriving (from WDW in orlando!) in a few weeks - we will hopefully be in the parks for EP on friday 8 Feb, leaving the evening of Monday 11th. can't wait!!!
Mrs Mouse 01-22-2008, 10:45 PM We were hoping to be heading "home" in mid-Feb but unfortunately, plans fell through. :(
But... what are you gonna do? I shouldn't complain, since we get to go to Florida in August. I do hope the rest of you have fantastic trips! Say "hi" to Mickey for us! :)
jamielj 01-22-2008, 10:56 PM We have been planning our trip for 18 months. It was originally going to be next week. However, my 16 year old didn't want to take her finals a week early. We pushed it forward a week. We'll fly down on the 4th and puts our first steps in the park on the 5th.
I am a little worried about the "Google" crowds.:crying: We were hoping for one of the quietest weeks of the year. I am hoping that they don't show up on Tuesday until their private evening party.
Our family of 5 all purchased gray sweatshirts and I'm letting everyone "Disney" theirs. My 8 year old has plans to plaster hers with Mickey decals. :)
Every night at the dinner table we have a hard time talking about much more than Disneyland!

We will be there at the same time. If you don't mind me asking what is your AP rate you will pay at the DLH? We have AP's but I didn't check because I thought it would be way too much. Just wondering.
Courtney Anne 01-24-2008, 06:25 PM My birthday has to share time with the Superbowl this year. Plus, I live in Phoenix, AZ so my town is going to be over-run with crazy football fans !!!
I decided to get the heck out of Dodge, and decided to go to my favorite place !
I will be taking my son, Christian and my nephew AJ. It will be AJ's first trip to DL. I am so excited to show him stuff !
fairyprincessmom 01-25-2008, 07:13 AM my cute kitties~ We got the price of $159.00 a night for a standard room. But you have to ask for the AP5 rate!! It's still a lot more than we usually spend for a hotel but we decided that we have to try it once!!!
mycutekitties 01-25-2008, 08:10 AM THANKS! :) We might have to do that someday (just to say we were there) :D

YIPEEE!!!! My birthday is March 1st, and I'll be in Anaheim, conveniently, for a conference until then, SOOOOO, I get to be in DLand on my B'day! :fez: My kids are mad at me (they'll be at home with daddy). My hubby suggested that I go over on the 28th or 29th, to say that I was there in Jan, Feb and March (glad I bought those AP's).
I'm so excited!!!!

Rockchalker 01-25-2008, 01:20 PM My 5 year DD and I are doing a girl's trip Feb. 6 through 9. After reviewing reviews and trying to keep the trip as economical as possible since we now have APs (translation: visiting more frequently!) we are staying at the Tropiciana rather than the DLH where we normally stay. (Will be staying there in October with the DH and DS for his 2nd b-day.)
We are so excited!!!
Can anyone tell me how far the American Girl store is from Disneyland???
Ms.Pecks 01-25-2008, 01:48 PM Goin' Feb.8th-11th. Got us a pretty good AP rate at the DH of $159 Fri., Sat., and Sun. even though the AP calendar said Sun. was sold out. Always best to call even when the website says there's nothing available.

We have gone a couple times while down there - plan at least an hour's drive each way. It is worth it, but once we were stuck in horrible traffic on the 5. It is a little bit tricky route, you take the 5 North to 1 (or is that 101)? At their web site, there is this link http://www.americangirl.com/stores/location_la.php, where you can just enter your starting location, and they'll give you directions.
It is SO worth it, though. The store is in a very posh shopping center, and we had a great dinner at the Cheesecake factory, too. If you can, get tickets to whatever show is there. Your five year old would love the show! Have a blast!
