I read a trip report that said a CM had told a family that children can choose adult meals at CS places on the dining plan - it does not differentiate between children/adult menus like at TS places. This just seems too good to be true? Is this accurate by other's experience? My son is already dreading chicken fingers/hot dogs/burgers for a 14 day stretch (would be ok for a shorter trip). I have had to promise to swap with him!

I haven't heard anything who has gone this year - but I think that was the case in the past (that you weren't limited to kid CS meals for the kids).

I'm not sure if they get picky with 'you're ordering 4 meals, you have 2 adults/2 children, you must order 2 of each'. But the 'way around' that would be for you to stand in two lines and you order 2 adult meals and your DH orders 2 adult meals.

I agree with your son, too!

Wow impressively fast response :D This is excellent news; I would swap with DS because I am a mum and that is my job ;) but I've now lost nearly 2 stone with a bit more to go and don't want to put it all back with children's burgers etc! Thanks for the double que tip, I wouldn't have thought of that. Not so much of an issue for DD - she likes to exist on pasta, cucumber and fantasy. There seems to be quite a lot of pasta for children.

Congrats on the weight loss!

And most meals you can request a 'healthy' side instead of the chips (to use 'your' language!) - When I'm with my sister we'll often get one meal with fries/chips, and one with carrots or whatever, and then both eat on the 'bad' stuff and the good stuff.

In fact, I think on the kids' meals, the 'default' is the healthier stuff now!

Thankyou - I intend to keep it off. I agree the sides are healthy, the carrot sticks go down well with my children but what IS it with those yucky tubs of apple sauce? I'd put this on a pork chop or stick some crumble on top of it! I wish they's just give the children an apple instead.

We just returned from 14 days on the DDP with two kids. While there is no distinction made on your receipt which shows how many credits you've used, we did have a bad experience with one CM who wouldn't let us get three adult and one child's meal at one time. This only makes sense if they can't account for who is using what credit, as we explained he could use three adult CS meals, and he still wouldn't go for it.
That said, I asked this same question before I went on my trip and someone's answer really changed my perspective. They noted I've paid for two adults and two children. Then I really couldn't conscience trying to work around more adult CS meals.
Have a wonderful trip. We loved the DDP and ate REALLY WELL!

We were there the first week of Jan and had the same problem at Typhoon Lagoon. We were 3 adults, 2 children and we wanted to order 4 adults and 1 child meal for lunch at a CS. They said on the 2008 plan they could not ring up 4 adult CS meals on a card with only 3 adults in the room. This goes against the old rule that you could spend your credits at your own discression. Just so we still had 4 adult CS meals left I didn't understand the problem. But they are clearly trying to keep the kids on the kid menus. I asked for a manager because I thought I should be able to use an unused adult meal from another day and he did begrudgingly oblidge. They have a lot of kinks to work out of the 2008 plan but we would still use it in the future. Have a great trip. :D
