We are tentatively planning a quick trip (5days, 4 nights) to WDW in April... I've only been to DLR prior to this. Does anyone have tips or suggestions on ways to get discount tickets? I've seen several internet "deals" that appear to be good, but you must sit through a 90 minute timeshare presentation to get the tickets. Has anyone actually done that? Was it terrible or worth it for the discounted price of tickets?
Thanks for your input!!

For reputable discounts, I highly recommend checking out www.mousesavers.com. You can also sign up for the newsletter, which has additional discounts available only to newsletter subscribers.
With that short of a trip, I believe your time is too precious to use in a timeshare presentation. The stories I've heard, 90 minutes is not the norm, even if they SAY 90 minutes, due to the sales tactics they use.

About 5 years ago my DH got a fax at work that was an offer for a 3or4 day hotel and WDW passes. You just had to go to a brief meeting and tour at the hotels timeshare offices. Well it was a super deal and for just $40 for the stay we upgraded the room to a suite and my GF came with us. We figured it would not be to bad, the appt was early the first morning so while we went to that my GF could get the kids moving and be ready when we got back. The tour was really nice and the guide seemed pleasant enough. We actually decided to go because we really had thoughts towards buying into it. Two weeks before we went our car died. So we figured oh well we can go any way and find out all the info and when we can afford it again we will do it then. Well as nice as the guide was the seller was the polar opposite. When we sat down we explained about our car and said we just wanted the info for later use. Oh are you sure? We could do this.... You could put down this much.....I bet if you dig deep you could really afford it...You don't have a check with you? No problem how about you get all the cash you have with you and beg your GF to give you all hers (we will give her passes too) and then we can do ..... It took us two hours just to escape the sales pitch and two different managers who could "help us make it work". The only reason we stayed was that you got the tickets on the way out, and they almost did not give them to us. I would not do it again if I could go back in time.
If you actually were interested in a Vacation Club Disney's is awesome and the Guide was so low pressure I almost forgot he was selling me something!

Most timeshares will state a 90 minute requirement to get whatever they are offering
However... When you get there you will be invited to go into a lounge for snacks, coffee, etc.
When you are finally taken to the salesperson is when the clock starts. You will be invited, after a movie or something, to tour the property. Ths will be in a golf cart. You will be far from the sales office when the 90 minutes is up.
Once you get back you will stil have more to go through, possibly a "manager" coming in to offer a better deal than the original salesperson.
Actual total time from arrival to departure will be closer to 2.5 hours rather than 90 minutes. Add in travel time both ways and how much time will you be spending?
Calculate your vacation time and hourly cost.
Take the total number of hours from the time you leave home until the time you return. Then subtract out the time sleeping or otherwise spent in your room. This gives you actual vacation time in hours.
Then take the total cost of your trip, transportation, tickets, lodging, meals, etc. Divide this by the number of hours. This gives you a cost per hour for your actual vacation time.
Now look at what you are getting, and consider how much it is really costing you.
BTW, almost any Disney ticket you get from a timeshare promotion (especially if you get a voucher) is NOT upgradeable; I know this as I am involved in selling tickets at WDW.

For me the issue is not so much the time it takes but the incredible high pressure that they put you under. I mean, they've been known to actually get MAD at you for wasting their time! Who needs that just to save a few bucks? Definitely not worth it for me!

My 2 cents... dont do the timeshare presentation to just get some tickets. Use the link that Drince mentioned and take a look at what they have to offer. You will be much happier in the long run. :)

Check out http://bordersrewardsperks.com
I used them to buy my 7 day parkhoppers and got what I think is a great deal. 4 days for the price of 3. Even with the $7.95 shipping it was cheaper than mousesavers. They have deals for all lengths of stay.
