Does anyone have a preferred bag for toting things around the parks? I have two little ones, so it has to hold more than just tickets and money. I'm considering a nylon shoulder bag that zips, but I also could go the backpack route.

I personally find the backpack type more comfortable for lugging things. I used a soft small cloth backpack and it was just enough for a bottle of water or two, digital camera, condensed wallet, inhaler, room keys etc. I pretty much lugged everything for our party of five with no problem. The only downside is if it is very hot it can add to the "sweat" factor.

We have a small LL Bean trailbag. It has two deep pockets on each side and a roomy main compartment. It slings over one shoulder, is comfortable and waterproof.

When we used to use a stroller, I'd have 2 bags, a bigger one with diapers, wipes, extra clothes, etc that stayed with the stroller most of the time and a smaller backpack with the camera, my wallet, and a few emergency things that was carried with us everywhere.

Now that we have no stroller (or diapers) anymore i use a small messenger bag that can go across your body. It's not too girly do my DH will carry it too.

MdPrincess, I moved your thread to a more appropriate forum. Thanks.

As for me, I have a somewhat large camera bag for my camcorder, etc. The thing is that I hang my water bottle off of it and I am also able to carry small items such as snacks and queue line activities. We also usually have a stroller, so some stuff goes under there as well.

I found that the main thing when carrying a bag is that you have to balance size with what you intend on carrying. The main reason for that is because you may still have to carry it on rides at times and there may be some space constraints.

I would suggest that whatever you decide on, it needs to be waterproof if you plan on water rides and if you get caught in one of those famous Florida downpours.

I love back packs personally...but my Mom has purchased this sling bag shaped like a triangle and wow! I wished I had that one! You can find them in Target in the luggage department.

Both my wife and I take a fanny packs around with us. Hers is regular size and mine is a large one (about 1/2 size of standard backpack) that can be worn as a fanny back, back pack or over the shoulder. This allows me to move as needed for rides. We also pack a backpack and get a locker at each park with change of cloths, rain gear etc. At times we have taken our fanny packs and put them in the locker when we have gotten tired of them that way they are close but you don't have to carry them around.

My initial reaction to the question in the thread title: "Don't"

I have a small purse that's big enough for cash/etc, sunglasses (when I go inside and want to put them away), camera, and cell phone (if I'm meeting up with someone). If it's summer/threatening to rain, then it also will fit two 'disposable' ponchos that I get at home (one for me and one for my sister, if she's with me). If I bring my Brita bottle, it's on a lanyard that I wear on my shoulder, or tie to my purse strap.

During weather that an extra layer may be needed, it's either around my waist/neck, or if my sister is with me and she has room, in her backpack. She doesn't bring the backpack if we don't need it, though. (And she usually needs a sweatshirt before I do, so often it just has her sweatshirt in it.)

I actually just asked for and got one of the baggelini (spelling could be off) crinkle backpacks for Christmas from my husband. I usually have the Jansport backpack on our DL trips but after reading about this other bag on one of the MP discussion boards I looked into it and can't wait to give it a try. It is a little smaller than my usual backpack, but so much lighter and I know in WDW it will be better with the sweat factor. I'll let you know how it works out after our June trip.
