(Please move if in the wrong forum) :)
So we are heading down this weekend and the nephew we were going to pick and bring along cannot go.
Now I have an extra Two Day Hopper ticket for a 3-9 yo.
The question is:
Can I somehow upgrade it and split those days among my two sons (9 and 11 yo)??
...And then purchase another day for me, so we all get three days of magic???
I realize I would need to pay more for my 11yo, but does anyone know if this is even possible?

If not--what are my options on this ticket--just sit on it and use it as an excuse to get back down sooner than I anticipated? ;) :D

Any help or advice will be appreciated!!!
Thanks,

Hank

The ticket is non-refundable and you cannot split it up.
But you can use it for future trips. You can also upgrade the ticket later to an AP or a ticket with more days/features. I think it can be upgraded to an adult ticket as well, but someone may need to confirm that and correct me if I am wrong.

I guess I should have asked first... are these tickets in hand now or are they a part of a package?

I don't know if the rules are different for a partially used pass vs brand new but this is the response I got when inquiring about changing my DD's pass with 2 or 3 days left to an adult pass since she will be 12 when we go this November :

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Unused days on admission tickets (which have no expiration date) may be
used for admission to our theme parks on any future visit; however, when
children become older than the established "child" age range, they will
require the adult priced admission media to enter our theme parks.

In these circumstances, existing passes may be presented in person at
any Guest Relations location, to have the tickets exchanged for the
required media (at no additional charge). (If you did not select the No
Expiration Option on the child's Magic Your Way ticket, it will expire
14 days after first use.)

Depends on if you have an actual ticket in your hand or if it is part of a package.

An actual ticket is nonrefundable but you may use it toward the purchase of
another ticket at a later date if it is totally unused. The 14 day expiration starts ticking from the first day of use. Tickets can't be split between two people, but that's not an uncommon question.

If it's part of a package, and that package was booked thru Walt Disney Travel Company either by yourself or by your travel agent, you can usually change the package features up to 5 or 7 days before travelling. They will charge a change fee to revise your reservation, but any remaining money after his ticket is deleted will be refunded. Other package vendors tend to have stricter rules so you may be too close to going to revise your trip.

There is a big **BUT** here! This advice is for a normal package, not one made with one of the several Disney promo codes. If you booked with a promo code and the booking window for that promo has ended DO NOT try to revise your package or all the pricing will revert to whatever pricing is open at the time you change. For example, if you booked the Jan-Feb-Mar promo and revise the package, you will get current pricing which could very well be more than what the refund would be.

You could always still pick up his ticket at check in (it will be coded on a room key card) and just not use it. Tickets even with a package are good for 14 days from first use unless you purchase the no expiration feature which I assume you did not.

If you go this option, I HIGHLY recommend going to Guest Services at your resort to discuss with them the unused ticket. I think I recall hearing stories of people doing just this, but running into problems the next year when they went to use the ticket because of Disney having purged/archived parts of their database. Just go to Guest Services to find out what you need to do to prevent that problem for you. (And then don't loose the ticket between your return home and your next visit!)

OK I think I follow...
I should have clarified that---They are tickets in hand.
They were not ordered as part of any package (other than the tickets for me and my sons) but not part of a hotel package or anything.
And we havent used any of the days--they are fresh new tickets.

If I'm reading this right---as long as I dont use one of the days on it---they will be good for the foreseeable future, but if we dont get back until my youngest is past 9---we will have to step the ticket up to the adult admission.

Does that make sense.

I guess as long as there is no expiration date--I'll just hang onto it.

(I did not buy any sort of no expiration date ticket upgrade however)

Thanks for all the advice and info!!
And keep it coming if I'm mistaken about something....

If it was a partially used ticket, used by your son, there shouldn't be a charge, but I'm not sure if the rules are the same or different if it wasn't used at all.

I would think thats right, the ones that expire expire 14 days from first use, so if you don't use it then it should not expire.

...and I love the Signature---My 9yo said something similar when we stayed at POR last January.
"Wouldn't it be cool if we could just live here...!"
