My husband works for the Department of Defense and can purchase discounted Parkhoppers from the military base where he works.

We purchased 5-day DLR Parkhoppers last year which included 1 Early Entry (now Magic Morning) admittance. We used this without a problem last year.

This year (2008) we purchased 5-day DLR Parkhoppers again through the military base and expected it to include Magic Morning admittance. However, we were surprised and disappointed to find out that Military parkhoppers do NOT include MM admittance this year!

We asked a manager-looking CM at the entry gates why the tickets didn't include MM and they said it was because they are sold at discounted rates.

So anyone thinking about purchasing Military DLR Parkhoppers, please be aware that this benefit is NOT included!!!

That is a sad development. Come On Disney!!For some reason, I thought they didn't come with EE since a long time ago. As in years. Perhaps pricewise, if you want the Magic Mornings, just buy the non Military tickets.

I uised to be able to buy discounted parkhoppers at the university where I worked and I don't think they included it either. Might be the case for all deep discount tickets?

Many people reported that the discounted Gay Days park hoppers from last October didn't include it, either.

IMO, a "discount" is supposed to be a reduced price for the exact same thing, not something less. If eggs are priced $1.20 for a dozen then a "discount" on eggs at 10 for $1.00 is not a "discount" - you are paying less and getting less.

It is sad that Disney's marketing dept. decided to target military personnel this way. That is a sad way to gouge a profit. Unsurprising, but sad.

P.S. Thank you for point this out. Many members of my extended family are in the military, and this is important for them to know.

I really don't think they are "targetting" the militar0y. They sell group discount tickets to many, many groups. The military, local OC employers, conventions like Gay Days, and so on. It sounds like they are all treated the same.

Pay full price, get a premium product with all the frills, pay discounted price get the basic thing you were loking for, 3(or whatever) days admission to the parks.

We ran into this recently with a couple in our larger party who had military tickets. Luckily we were all staying at DLH so the hotel card got them EE/MM access.

Military tickets from the base in Honolulu have not included EE - at least since we began using them in 2005. Sounds like you were getting a perk we weren't!

We were in the parks during Gay Days this past fall. Gay Days tickets were slightly less than the military tickets - and they too did not come with EE. If you can, stay at a DLR hotel and then you get EE.

My husband is in the military and we have bought the park hoppers for my parents every time we went for the past 5 years (we have AP's) and they have never included EE.

Well, it seems like we got a "bonus" on our Military Tickets last December. It's a good thing, since I was buying tickets for my sisters and their families too!

I know I should never **assume** anything, but when buying a "parkhopper" it seems like some may assume that MM comes with it (like I did, based on past experience), so hopefully this info helps others.

When we go again, I will probably order the tickets from getawaytoday since they come with two MM for about the same price as from Disneyland.com. I do think that MM entry is worth $30 (the amount of the military discount), so buying the normal parkhoppers make sense. Plus, if I can convince my husband, I hope to be upgrading to APs next time, so the additional cost will just go towards the AP purchase.:D
