I noticed that the Wilderness Lodge (acc. to official Disney World site) has some "deluxe" rooms that sleep 6 people. But I cannot find a layout or description of those rooms. Anyone have any leads?

(Note: I am not talking about a suite; they specifically mention "deluxe" as if it were between the standard room and the suite size.)

My conundrum is this: we want to put six people into one room (legally :) ) but also want to be in the Poly, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian, or Contemporary. Seems to me my only choices are:
1) pay exorbitantly for a suite
2) go for the deluxe at Wilderness (does any other resort have this option?)
3) get two adjoining rooms

I am aware of the Fort Wilderness option, but one or two of my travelers just won't abide it. We could head over to the Boardwalk and similar deluxe resorts, but we will already be at those for two days of a wedding.

Are my options as limited as I think they are?

They are probably referring to the DVC Villas that are available to members on points and to the public for 'cash'.

Two-Bedroom Vacation Home (sleeps up to 8)

Master suite with king-size bed and whirlpool tub

Separate bedroom with private bath and either one queen-size bed and double-size sleeper sofa or two queen-size beds
Queen-size sleeper sofa in living room
TV & VCR player
Fully-equipped kitchen
Stacked washer/dryer
Private porch or balcony

Nope...that's not it. You can see what I mean by going here:

I suspect that the rooms are what allears.net call a "junior suite," but I can't be sure.

Anyway, does anyone know of non-villa or non-Vacation Club options for 6 people? My research tells me there are none, but I thought I'd ask. This group always seems to know the hidden secrets.

do you not want a villa or vacation club property? They are probably your best bet for a part of 6-

if that is the case you might be stuck with two rooms...if you are all in the same immediate family (like parents & 4 kids) perhaps two rooms at a moderate and try to get them connecting?

The other advantage of either 2 rooms or a DVC of a certain size - is multiple bathrooms. If any of your party are teenagers (particularly teenage girls), having more than one bathroom would be a very good thing. Just something to think about!

The deluxe room you mention was once featured on Great Hotels with Samantha Brown. It looks like a slightly larger room with a divider and French doors in the middle. There is a small counter with a fridge, etc, and a walk-through bathroom between the two rooms. There are two beds in the bedroom and a pull out couch in the "living room." It is no where near the size of a 2 BR villa. Then again, it may not be near the cost of a 2 BR villa as well. (When the villas are available for cash ressies, that is...)

We also have 6 in our family. WDTC suggested a Deluxe room at WL. The price was substantially cheaper than any other option at the other Deluxe resorts. These rooms are also available at Boardwalk Inn, though most of the reservationists are not aware they can accomodate 6 per people. You must specifically ask for them. (At least we had to!)
