In another sub-forum, I discuss my dining plans under the Deluxe DDP.:geek: I have a few concerns about getting back to the Animal Kingdom Lodge after dinner at a few places. First, I have an 8:50 rezzie at the California Grill which means that I will probably finish around 10:30. Would it be easier to just take a taxi from the Contemporary to the AKL rather wait for a bus to DTD and then pick up a bus to the AKL (assuming they run at that time of night, a Monday night at that)? Or is it practical to hop on the monorail and go to EPCOT which I know(?) has buses running up to 11:00(?).
My other concern is my 7:05 rezzie at Citricos in the Grand Floridian. I should be finished at approx. 9:00 and the same question arises---taxi or bus to DTD and then to AKL?

For the California Grill ADR - I'd just take a taxi. After a nice relaxing meal, at that hour of the evening, I'm SOOOO not into doing the whole bus thing. Last time I was staying at POFQ, and MK was still open when I was through eating, and so it would have been super easy to walk/monorail to the MK at catch a bus to POFQ - and I took a taxi instead (and he did the LONG way around, but that's another issue). I don't think I'd rely on going to Epcot at that hour unless it's EMH night.
For Citricos, only because it's earlier, you might want to consider the Epcot transfer, but then you're highly lilkely to be getting in with the Post-Illuminations crowd, and that would be a major mood alterer. At that hour, if you're not ready to collapse into bed, you might want to go to DTD and just walk through it after your meal, then it's a good 'excuse' for doing the bus thing. If you're just pooped, treat yourself to the taxi.

Im with Drince on this one. To me, this is the only benefit to taking a taxi or having a rental car. Sure, you can still get there via Disney transportation, but it will take longer and it will not necessarily be a "non-stop" trip.

buses run from the marketplace until 11 pm, from pleasure island until 2 am.
but buses also typically run for 2 hours after park closing. if i didn't feel like the taxi option, i'd probably walk to MK and catch the AKL bus there.

personally, i would monorail to MK and then bus to AKL. That just seems to be the easiest option for me.

it'd be much quicker to walk i'd think. the monorail station is on the other side of the MK gates whereas the walkway goes right to the buses and I believe AKL is like stop #2 or something? it's pretty close to the front if i recall correctly.
