Someone with more knowledge than me help me out. I just booked a Room at the AKL. I wanted a savannah view but the only thing available was poolside. I took it, but now I am wondering what I got. If there are no rooms on the first floor how can you be poolside? Is it poolview? Has anyone been there that can straighten me out. Thank you, Bigiver

We just got back. Poolview is a nice view. The pool is very tropical and pretty. I don't think there are any poolside rooms though. Jiko, Boma, Mara, the fitness center, game room and bathrooms lined the bottom level around the pool. Maybe there were rooms at the end of the hallways but I don't remember noticing any. We were savanah view but I thought more than once during our stay while walking around that a pool view would be nice too. I hope this helps. :D Enjoy your stay. It is by far my favorite hotel now. :)

The first time we stayed at AKL we had a poolview room. None to my knowledge on the first floor, but a very nice tropical view. At the savanah side of the resort, there was a viewing platform on each floor at the ends of the halls so those without a savanah view can still go down the hall any time of the day or night for viewing.

Boma is great for breakfast as well as dinner, they will even make up omlets if you don't see what you'd like. Buy the extra Kenyan presspot of coffee (not included in the buffet) if they still offer it and you are a coffee fan, much better than the average WDW coffee.

We had a pool view room also and it was one of the most fantastic resorts we have been to.. We were up at sunrise one morning and I have never seen anything so beautiful It was as though we were in Africa. I hope the Jacaranda trees and Rainforest trees are in bloom while you are there,we had a Jacaranda tree at our balcony totally awesome.Take lots of film . You are going to love it no matter what room you are in. AKL#1 in IMO.
