DH and I are trying to plan a trip to DL and were wondering if Cinco de Mayo has a noticable affect on the crowds. The hours aren't any longer so my guess would be not really, but wanted to hear from the experts ;).

View Full Version : How does Cinco de Mayo affect the crowds? D15 01-10-2008, 10:46 PM We were there over last Cinco de Mayo (without even realizing it) :p We didn't notice any sizeable difference in crowds from the days before (or after), but it was a beautiful day with a good amount of people. A perfect Disneyland day! :D Darkbeer 01-10-2008, 11:06 PM Maybe a busier Happy Hour at Tortilla Jo's in DtD, but that is about it. TTFN92 01-11-2008, 07:10 AM Great! DH has to pick his vacation for the year today and we were planning a trip for the two of us. It seemed to be the only days it would work. I'm glad it's not affected. junglemom 01-11-2008, 07:15 AM Oh good to hear, I will be there that same weekend. I was worried. gloria 01-11-2008, 08:41 AM completely off topic...i was once at a mexican restaurant (on may 5th) for a girlfriend's birthday, and the waitress asked her if her birthday always fell on cinco de mayo! duh!!!:p gloria TTFN92 01-11-2008, 09:08 AM completely off topic...i was once at a mexican restaurant (on may 5th) for a girlfriend's birthday, and the waitress asked her if her birthday always fell on cinco de mayo! duh!!!:p gloria Here's your sign! :p LOL! tinker3 01-11-2008, 09:15 AM We have done it twice a few years back. One year it was very quiet and nice. The next year it was packed ! From what I heard, it was a time when DLR was offering some special deal to local residents and I can't remember if it was a short promotion time or the last week of the promotion but it was very busy. In short ;) as long as your not running into anything like that it's usually a nice time to go :). TTFN92 01-11-2008, 12:49 PM We have done it twice a few years back. It was horrible . I would never want to do that again. |
