Hi Guys!

My name is Johnny and I'm in love with Disneyland. Not only has the Magical Kingdom been the heart of my childhood memories, but it has brought about many warm and heart-filled sentiments as an adult. Although I love Disneyland, I have not been able to frequent it as often as I would like due to my "social worker income." I don't know if you know much about social workers, but we don't get paid all that much...our income is secondary if not lower to the needs of the population we serve. Additionally, my friends tend to seem to like the other amusement parks more...BLEH! =0p

Recently I started dating an individual who is a die-hard avid Disney Fanatic. Not only does he always hold an annual pass, but he knows the short cuts through the parks, knows where all the restrooms are located, where to get the delicious turkey legs, corn dogs and Monte Cristo Sandwhiches, knows the history of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, knows the little quirks about the parks (i.e. where Malificent glares down from her tower) and much much more. During our last date, he took me to the park and showed me such an amazing time. Disneyland to me now is one of thee most romantic places to be. He bought me an annual pass and also took me to watch Fantasma and it really was a fantasy date...(awesome show by the way).

One day I mentioned to him that I went to Club 33 awhile back because my friend's father took us there. Not knowing how exclusive the restaurant was, I didn't think twice about anything. My partner's expression changed immediately because he has been an annual pass holder for the past 25+ years and has never set foot into the club for both financial reasons and because he cannot afford the membership.

His birthday is coming up on 1/16 and he wants to go to Disneyland that following Friday. I tried asking all of my friends if anyone had the connections to get into Club 33 but no one knew. Does anyone have any idea or know how I could get entrance without having a membership myself? I figured that this would be the perfect way to say "I love you" to someone who got sad because he couldn't show me the fireworks at the end of the night in front of the castle due to poor weather conditions. That look of sadness showed me that he really wanted me to experience both his love for Disneyland and his love for me. This surprise would me the world to me guys. I have money, but not much. Does anyone have any ideas???

Anything that you can do would greatly help guys! I'm all ears! Please send me an email at chinobaldee@yahoo.com with any suggestions. I'm getting pretty desperate here! =0)

Pretty much the only way to get in is to find someone you know. They shut down auctions for charity last year. Even if you could find someone you know, you're looking at really short notice. The 16th is only a week away. Even a member would have a tough time getting a reservation in that timeframe.

Agreed, you need a member to bring you in - so if you can't find one via your circle of friends, you're pretty much out of luck. And the short notice makes it even harder.

There is another Disney "special" thing you could try for, although it isn't guaranteed. Has he ever been inside the Lilly Belle? It's a special caboose pulled by one of the trains, beautifully decorated just the way Walt Disney wanted it. And really quite romantic inside.

Getting inside takes some patience, a friendly smile, and a little luck. You'd need to head to a train station and start asking cast members if you could take a ride, as a special birthday wish for a big Disneyland fan. If you have no luck, try again later or at a different train station.

Unfortunately there's no guarantee of getting on board the Lilly Belle - but he might really appreciate that you're willing to be patient and spend some of your Disneyland time standing around train stations making the attempt, just so that he could have a special birthday experience. And he'd appreciate that you did the research and tried to find something special to do.

Just an idea!

The Lilly Belle sounds like an amazing and romantic way to say I love you and happy birthday. Thanks for the advice! Keep em' coming!

Hey MyLilo, have you ever taken the Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour? It is a little expensive for the budget conscious at $59/person, but if you are a Disney Visa card holder, your discount would bring it to under $100 for the two of you. We did the tour; it includes a look into Club 33, just the lower entry area. But, he would get his feet in the door, you can get your photo taken in their elevator.
