I've had my options set to pop-up a notice when I receiver a new PM. It's worked fine for the past year, but for some reason stopped working a couple weeks ago. I get PMs with no pop-up notice. I checked my options to make sure that it wasn't turned off. I never made any changes recently. It has worked since my status change, so it couldn't be related to that.

I tried turning it off and back on again (a standard Windows troubleshooting technique ;) ), but that didn't fix it.

Is it just me? Anybody else having this trouble? Anything that could be causing this that I don't know about?

It's working for me, Bill. I'm using IE 5.5 both at work and at home if that helps...

Me too...and I haven't changed any settings in IE either (or installed any pop-up killers - I still get pop-up advertising).

What the...!!! I just got a pop-up notice. :rolleyes: I guess all I had to do was complain and the little gremlins stopped messing around. :D

I've had verious pop-ups hide on me when I'm typing away, but they are there when I close what I'm working on. Don't know if that helps you at all. Otherwise I have gotten them both yesterday and today, so it must be you (or your gremlins!)

Thanks for the test PMs guys. That did help. I think I may have solved the problem. It seems that due to the slowness of the board I haven't been giving the main page a chance to fully download before clicking on a forum. (I'm impatient like that. :) ) Anyway, for some reason, even though the forums are visible there is something downloading (some graphics or something) that is taking a loooooooooooong time. Only after that finishes does the pop-up come up. I wasn't giving it a chance to finish.

(By the way, a "looooooooooooong time" is all relative. In a broadband world it's like 5 seconds. ;) I'm spoiled I guess.)

My pop-ups aren't working. I am hoping to pubically shame the pop-up trolls into giving me back my pop-ups.
