Hey everyone, it's been awhile! I'm going to Disney World with my boyfriend in May for his birthday. Is there any way I can have a cake delivered to our room? It's just the two of us, so I don't need anything big...

it can be done. one was delivered to our room last year for our anniversary. was left on the table for us when we got back from a day in the park. i thought it was nicely decorated and tasted delicious as well. the in-laws called the hotel (AKL) and ordered it for us we found out later. they said they were able to pick from several options - flavors and designs...

i assume it was a room service thing - came on the tray with cloth napkins... our only problem was there were no plates and silverware sent up (except for a large cake knife). made a quick run to the food court to get what we needed.

On a similar theme so I won't start a new thread - I should like a b'day cake and balloons if possible as a surprise for DH at Chef Mickey's (hopefully a late lunch) in August. Can I request this with my ADR or do I need to do it from the resort after we arrive? This meal will be several days into the trip so not urgent as soon as we arrive. Is it possible it coule be delivered by a character? I'm guessing not!

All restaurants now have the small cake (6-8 servings) available, no need to pre-order. If you want something bigger or more custom, you have to call and preorder them, I believe it's through disney dining but don't hold me to that.

We thought the small cakes were great- we had an all chocolate one and a mocha one.

HTH.

Does anyone know of a website or phone number where I can order a cake? I'd love to know what they look like, and I think I've seen a link here once before, but I don't recall where.

New "Cake Hotline" for ordering special occassion cakes!

5/29/07: DINE: New "Cake Hotline" for Guests requesting celebratory cakes at most Table Service dining locations. The Cake Hotline number is 407-827-2253 and requires 48 hours notice.

Here's the link it came from ;) it's from (gasp) another disney board.

You can also order birthday cakes from Garden Grocer.
It's like $20 plus delivery, but you could order other items too.

I looked at that thread.
Those cakes look wonderful!

They do look incredible. I'm crazy for the small one that looks like mouse ears. Does anyone know if you can have nice cakes like the delivered to value resorts? I want it to be a big surprise, and since it's just me and him going, it'd be hard to get rid of him. :D

I'm sure ANYTHING is possible....for a price!!

Ha--just messing with you Scoobydooby. We had balloons delivered to the resort without any complications. It was a breeze! I made arrangements through the Disney florist line....

Tina where you been?! So do they leave them in the room when you're out at a pre-arranged time?

Hello, Darling Scoobydooby. I'm back. Dad's been sick with prostate cancer that has spread to the bones. It was unexpected and it is quite advanced. Most "fun" things went by the wayside for the last month. He's stable now and feeling better (although we don't know how much time he has left), so I'm back to a more normal routine.

I missed you all terribly!

Regarding the balloons: They were in my room when we arrived. I had asked for that. In addition, they asked me what my son's favorite character was (Donald Duck) and they had a signed, personalized birthday card with it. I had them add a small stuffed animal (of course, Donald) to the balloons to use as a weight. It was really cute.

I have a latex allergy and told them that I had to modify the regular arrangement to have only mylar balloons. They did so without incident and were very nice and gracious about it (of course, it cost a bit more). The balloons lasted the ENTIRE 10 day trip.

I'm sure they would be able to deliver whenever you wanted. Do you have the number? I can look it up for you. There is a website too, which would be cheaper for you, obviously, but I don't know if you can make modifications or ask for other things that aren't posted on the site.
