We have stayed at Hojo's and Carousel Inn, as well as the DL hotel. I am trying to plan a super budget trip this Spring. I'm a teacher, so have to go during weekends or Spring Break!

I would rather stay at Carousel Inn or one of the places nearby, but all seem so much more expensive, all over $100.

How is the walk or shuttle from Jolly Roger or Stovall's? Also, is the HI Inn and Suites close enough to walk to the shuttle at the DL parking lot and take that shuttle to the park?

Thanks for any info. We are only staying 3 nights, and most of the time will be in the parks.

We stayed at the Jolly Roger hotel once and the walk isn't bad. You can also do the shuttle, but it's only a five or ten minute walk away, including stopping for lights. We usually walked in the morning and took the shuttle at the end of the day because we'd be so tired. I don't recall it being too bad of an issue really. Good luck and have fun!

If you can get the Ent rate at Hojo's - I prefer it to the Hol Inn & Stes - shorter walk and fridge in the room, and I think the rooms are a little bigger. Enter sd50 as a discount code to see if they are offering that rate when you're there. I've stayed both places, I think they are pretty close in quality. I don't know how you get to the M&F parking lot shuttle from Hol Inn - we had free parking, so actually drove over. You could walk along Walnut and go through downtown disney, though.

Thanks for the info. I'm still in the research/planning phase and any help is very much appreciated!:fez:

What about Desert Inn and Suites? That is one of the places we like to stay at and is right in front of the crosswalk. They have decent prices too.

Desert Inn is quickly becoming our favorite as well. It's so close and we always seem to be comfortable there.

The local middle school always stays at the Tropicana when they go each year.

I've heard good things (here) about the Alpine Inn, and when I priced it for our December trip they were VERY reasonable.

Alpine is excellent! Clean basic rooms at a decent price.

I always loved driving past Alpine Inn when I was a kid. I just thought it looked so fun. :p

If you're a AAA member, don't forget their auto travel services. I haven't gotten the 59 rate at Hojos but I've gotten some very low deals through my awesome AAA travel agent.
