My family and I are making our first trip to Walt Disney World in June and we are only planning on making 2 ADR's. If you had to pick only 2 places to eat where would you go? Any advice is appreciated. We are 6 adults if that helps. Thanks!

One would be at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. If everyone likes buffets, I would do Boma, which has yummy soups and some really different tastes, but it's not too exotic. If you have more money to spend and want a little more upscale atmosphere, try Jiko. Both have really decent wine lists. For my second choice, LeCellier at the Canada pavillion at Epcot is always good. It's a basic steakhouse, but really good quality.

Definitely LeCellier - and Boma is a great 2nd choice. Normally buffets aren't that great, but Boma is different. If you're turned off by a buffet though, I've never heard a negative review about Jiko, right next door.

that's a tough question. there are different things that make many of the Disney dining locations worth visiting; quaility of food/service, theme and atmosphere, special seating for fireworks/parades... you mention there are 6 adults so i think you might want a more adult centered dining.

i would do the holloywood brown derby and get the fantasmic package to have reserved seats for the show later in the evening - less time waiting in a line. the food and service are top-notch.

other than that i would suggest the california grill it's a long dining experience (2 plus hours) and offers diners a view of the fireworks at the magic kingdom. a bit pricey, but again great food, awesome service, and a great view of the fireworks if you can get a decent time.

other good options would be the coral reef in epcot, o'hanas a buffet, boma a buffet, yak and yeti in animal kingdom, and the 50s prime time if you ar willing to be a little silly and goofy with the waitstaff.

I'd do a Chef Mickey or Crystal Palace breakfast (everyone loves a character meal) and then Jiko, Yachtsman's Steakhouse or California Grill for a fancy dinner.

Boma and LeCellier are the best.

I would also give thought to 'Ohana or Teppen Edo for something unique that Disney can offer. Read the reviews here at MP for ideas. I'm posting a review this week for Teppen Edo but the past reviews for Teppanyaki will do.

Thanks everyone for the ideas...i have been leaning towards Le Cellier and Boma. We may have to do a third since there are just sooo many choices!

Some great choices are listed above, and I agree with all of them. But my first choice would be the California Grill, my favorite restuarant in or out of WDW. First off, there's that view that simply can't be beat - ask for a window table overlooking the Magic Kingdom, then get there as the sun is going down and watch the lights coming out around the Seven Seas Lagoon. If you're into sushi, they have one of the top sushi chefs in the world, and you'll believe that if you try one of the appetizers - melt in your mouth tasty! My favorite entree is the bbq marinated beef tenderloin. It practically cuts with a fork, and is the tastiest morsel of beef you've ever experienced. Great service, a wonderful California inspired wine list, and an open deck where you can go out and watch the nightly fireworks show over the MK. A truly wonderful and unique meal!!!

I would recommend Ohana and Coral Reef. Both offer experiences that you wouldn't get anywhere else. I liked Le Celliar but when it boils down to it, it is steak, good steak, but steak! So, if I could only do two, I would try to make them WDW exclusives! But, what are the ages of your group? What are you looking for?

I liked Le Celliar but when it boils down to it, it is steak, good steak, but steak!

Careful there - you're coming dangerously close to badmouthing STEAK!!!

I have to agree with a lot of the folks here. Had my first experience at Boma Saturday and it was very very good. Sure there were some foods that I didn't like but many more that I did and the desserts are simply awesome!

Yes Zebra domes are wonderful but my favorite was the warm chocolate mousse with (I believe) rum in it. It was heaven! (try it on the fresh fruit or the Zebra Domes! Ahh!). None better - also the variety and the food groups reprewented can't be beat. They didn't have crocodile, ostrich or wildebeast though that I actually ate in South Africa (much Americanized) but still a great meal.

Le Cellier is a great meal as well (cheese soup and salad were quite good there also).

I only made one more ADR this time other than Boma and that was the Kona Cafe in the Polynesian for breakfast. They have such a great breakfast there that I will do this more often. The pressed Kona coffee was the best I have had either in Disney or non-Disney. And those who love coffee will agree with me that Disney is pretty lacking in this department (though they are making some efforts here with new coffee stands in Epcot, AK and DS). Nice view at Kona as well.

All great suggestions. I also love Boma. We had lunch a month ago at the new Tusker House (buffet) in Animal Kingdom. They took a very long time seating us (I've seen others had the same problem), but the food was similar to Boma, and was VERY good! Just something to keep in mind if getting to Animal Kingdom Lodge proves difficult.

I used to suggest Artist Point, but I was very disappointed with our meal on our last visit.

If it were completely up to me, I would use my two ADRs to go to LeCellier twice! I love it that much.

If I HAD to pick another place, I might go with Coral Reef.

We tried Boma, but most of the food was too unusual for my tastes. If your famaily members are adventurous eaters, you might enjoy it.

I love Bomas- I found the level of strangeness in the food to variable. So I start with a tablespoon of everything and then go back for the best. I haven't been able to get into LeCellier yet, but next time I hope. For 3rd place, I might suggest the Plaza on Mainstreet- because it has a great old fashioned feeling and good food (also not really expensive). Likewise, I like the Rose and Crown at Epcot very much. Again great feeling and good food (and british beer and cheese so I'm good!). In DS, I went to 50s prime time cafe last time and had great meatloaf, mash potatoes and green beans. It might be a real kick if any of your group remembers the 50s and it is a nice homey break from running around.

LOL!

For me personally, #1 would be the Kona Cafe. I know it's not fancy and all that, but it has consistently been the best meal I've had since I started going to WDW.

#2 is tough. Do I pick an old standby or try something new? I am going to Cape May for the first time on my next trip (a seafood buffet, can't tell you how excited I am), however, I might just play it safe and pick the Coral Reef. Good food and great atmosphere!

Before our trip two weeks ago, I would have said hands down Le Cellier and (but not Boma breakfast -- the breakfast is average at Boma). Now, I would consider both Yak and Yeti and Kona Cafe breakfast possibly fighting it out with Boma, but I think Boma would win because it would be the harder ADR to secure. Yes, Yak and Yeti and the Kona Cafe are that good.

Only two, huh? Gosh, that's difficult. But if I must-they'd both be in Epcot. Le Cellier and Rose and Crown. Are you able to get into Le Cellier as your 180day window has already opened? I'd jump on that one first thing. You can always cancel it later if plans don't work out.

Rose and Crown was also a treat-beer flight, yummy salad, fabulous service and as it was for lunch it was really nice to have that park break in the middle of the day; sitting on the patio-there were only 3 other tables occupied-was a get-away-from-it-all experience.

Boma is also high on the list-as well as Prime Time.
