I know it is typically around end. Aug. sometime, but have been searching and can't find anywhere the date range it's been offered during in the past. Anybody who can lmk? Thanks!

I would look at mousesavers and under the FAQ, there's a question/answer that include historic discounts (and when they were offered, for planning purposes).

To add to what Drince said, its always good to keep in mind that while patterns from past discounts may help you predict future discounts, I would not necessarily count on them in the future.

In other words, I would not plan a trip on the possibility that a discount might come up. But its always good to know past offerings just so you know what to look for and try to have applied to your ressie.

I would call them myself, but I am too swamped waiting on hold for WDTC in Anaheim booking a bazillion peopel on the kids fly free...:D

Do you know if you book it with the dining & then they add the promo later for free dining, will they update your booking with the promo (lowering the price)?

Thanks!

Welcome to a fellow travel agent on the boards! Everyone is great with help and advice here, you're in good hands.

Yes, packages booked with WDTC can be re-priced, but the resort and/or room category must be available for the promotion. Not all resorts or room categories are available on all dates, and the number of promo rooms is limited. If any changes need to be made to the reservation, you must do so before the promo booking window closes in most cases.

Though promotions are never guaranteed, last year the free dining dates were for check-in from 8/26 thru 9/22, and the booking window opened in April. The year before that the free dining weeks went from late August to early October, so the free dining promo has been shrinking. We spoke to many people from Great Britain this year, their free dining weeks began in early August.

Thank you SO much for answering that. I have literally been trying to come up with time to call about MY trip, but I am just too swamped. We were planning on 2 weeks last week of Sept, first of Oct. It is really hard to decide between using the TA discounts, or just booking it so I can get the dining. What are your thoughts on that?? Thanks again, Aubree

I was on the disney web site yesterday checking prices. The instant messanger came up from disney and I chatted with a employee about questions I had. I asked about free dining and they said they are not sure yet and are waiting to get world about it. At least they didn't say no. I'm hoping for it with 2 children that count as adults and one child it makes fo ran expensive vacation .

ForeverPrincess, I merged your thread with another current thread of a similar topic.

You may want to peek at the previous comments for additional info as well.

If Disney was going to do their free dining plan like last year when would they post it?

Not to sound too dumb but what exactly does free dining involve and how does it work. Thanks in advance for help with this.

The free dining is an extension of the Disney Dining Plan. During most of the year, for a set price ($38.99/day?) you get one counter service meal (fast food), one table service meal, and a snack. At certain times of the year Disney has offered this plan as a free add-on to a regular package. You have to pay book rates for rooms, unless they're also offering discounted rooms as part of the free dining package. And you also have to purchase at least one 1-day/1-park ticket. Keep your eyes peeled here, or at mousesavers.com, to see if Disney offers the DDP for free later this year.

Ok, thanks, we have our room booked and our 5 day hopper pass but we didn't purchase the meal plan. That would be wonderful.
Thanks again

You should be aware of a couple of shortcomings with the DDP. Before this year, a table service meal would include appetizer, entree, non-alcoholic beverage and the tip. As of this year the plan no longer includes the appetizer or the tip. You also need to know that several of Disney's "signature" restaurants like the California Grill and the Brown Derby are 2-credit meals, which means that you'll still need to buy some meals out of pocket of you take advantage of them. Look at the numbers carefully to see if the plan will work for you.
