I am sooo excited! I didn't think it would happen anytime soon. That is the same week that we went to WDW last year so DS will get to spend his 8th b-day at DL this year. We were able to get Desert Inn & Suites. I checked the weeks around it and that week was the best rate and the only one that had rooms for all the days, at least the room we wanted. It just seemed to work out and it was all because we got the AAA brochure and a Disney Rewards brochure in the mail today ;). My sister's family is going with us. I decided to book the room just in case and then cancel later if it really wasn't going to work out, but DH told the kids so it is a done deal. No backing out now :D.

So now I have a couple food questions. First, how closely does the Blue Bayou follow the age of the kids meals? The reason I ask is that I have an 11 y.o. who is a small eater. The kids meal would be more than enough. I would just hate to go there and throw most of it away, since you really can't take it with you. We had tried to go when we had APs, but we couldn't get a PS and then it was closed on our last trip to put in the overlay. The kids really want to do it but it is so expensive. There really isn't a difference for lunch either so we will have to see about that.

Second, does French Market still have Mint Juleps? The menu on allearsnet didn't have it listed. That has always been my back up when the Mint Julep Bar is closed.

Lastly, does anywhere have Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb? We used to get it at the McD's fry place across from HM and at Zocolo's. Neither had it listed, but if they missed the Mint Julep they may have missed that too.

We don't have long to plan, but that is good. It will be here before we know it :).

I'm not sure about the policy on kid's meals. But, I do know that they do allow you to split meals. Perfect for a light eater.

I'll see ya there on the 7th.

We are on a turnaround from the 7th and 8th.

I am also planning since we can take coolers on the bus and just descided to get a turkey leg and save the resturaunts for another time.

Have a good time.

ps is the Desert Inn the one at the intersection of Harbour and Katella, next to the 7/11?

No, it's directly across from the DL crosswalk, next to Del Sol and behind IHOP. Great location.

Looks like we are changing our plans. We talked to AAA today and got a package for the LaQuinta off of Katella. We will have to drive or take the ART but it looks like a nicer hotel, better breakfast, plus all the "stuff" from AAA. The best thing was the refillable mug per person. That will be a huge savings right there. We usually take pop and put it in the stroller then just get a cup of ice, but having the mug will be better. Plus the other things.

Has anyone stayed at La Quinta? Just wondering if it is as nice as the pictures look. Should we take the ART or drive? We have free parking with our passes so that isn't an issue. We haven't ever used ART so don't know if it would be more convenient to have our own car. I guess it would depend on how parking is at the hotel.

We are really excited! Can't wait for Feb. 6th!

I haven't stayed at that La Quinta, but I have stayed at one here in OC. It was clean and quiet and the continental breakfast was better than others I've had. It was the night of our wedding so we got in late and headed out early to drive out to Vegas. Just my $.02.
