We had a great time in December, before Christmas Break...I would love to post a trip report...still working on it.

Caribbean Beach Resort was nice, but not like Port Orleans. It was worth a try...we had a nice room. It was kind of beat up though, needed new carpets and beds. Our request was granted and got the room and location we asked for, which was very nice.

Anywhooo- one evening, we wanted to visit the Deluxe Resorts to see all the Christmas displays, ie; Poly, Grand Floridian and the Comtemporary...but we were told it was a private party and had to leave unless we had an invitation.

We saw several signs for parking that said, DRC. There were cops everywhere and the traffic was horrible.

Just that Saturday night was awful, after that, it emptied out again and the area was back to normal.

What is the DRC?

We thought it was unfair that we were turned away since it was our vacation also. At least a notice in advance would have been nice so we could have made alternative plans.

Instead, that night we went to POFQ and it was EMPTY! I mean EMPTY! It was scary...no one was there. We ate, walked around and left...wow.

We did notice limo's, fancy cars and people dressed in gowns. My daughter said, "It must be the DISNEY RICH CLUB!" :D

Any help would be great!!!

in Disney terms, DRC is Disney Reservations Center (also sometimes referred to as the Central Reservations Office (CRO) or Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC)

What is the DRC?

Democratic Republic of Congo? :p That's the only DRC I know, at least...dunno what it could be in this context. I'm curious, were they just not allowing you to park, or were they not allowing you inside a hotel? (And which one, not that it'll help me nail down who they are, I still have no idea, I'm just curious...)

Wasn't one of the Democratic events at the Disney resort at that time?

Whatever it was...the whole Magic Kingdom area turned crazy. Outside of that, it was quiet.

The Poly had no parking left, there was a line coming out of the entrance; same with the Grand Floridian. The Contemporary, they turned us away. They said unless we had an invitation, we weren't allowed in.

The Wilderness Lodge, had limo's and many people in gowns and suits, etc. Showing up while we were leaving after visiting the resort for a while.

Driving around the M.K. area, there were signs held up by C.M.'s that said, "DRC Parking" with an arrow in several places.

It just peaks my curiosity...what was that? When I asked, I was told it was a private party.

The exact date was on December 15th. Who knows? We just found it odd...but of course, we found other things to do because there's always something to do in Disney!!!
