My wife and I are planning a trip (last minute) at the end of this month, January 29 through February 3.

I noticed that all of the all-star resorts are booked. Is this typical for booking so close to departure date?

I've heard that this is one of the best times to go, but with the all-stars booked, I'm afraid the crowds are going to be huge.

You might be seeing the South Louisiana exodus for the weekend of your trip. Mardi Gras is February 5th, and a lot of families take advantage of the days off of school (most have at least Mon and Tues off) to visit WDW in the off season. It's not usually enough to significantly impact park crowds (from what I've heard - I stick around for Mardi Gras!), but I could see where it might impact resort bookings.

Try Pop Century if you want a value hotel. We're going on 2/9 to 2/13 (first time) and was able to book through AAA.

We changed the dates to Jan. 24-29. The resorts were wide open then.
