Forgive me for likely asking the most basic of questions, but I am new to the forum and while i have been to Disneyland several times, never with kids. We are going with our four and 2 1/2 year old from the 6th-11th. On the sixth it looks like several parades are still going on and that it will be busy (park hours) but we thought we could just do parades and shows maybe that day (before they stop)-my question is-how busy do you think it will be that week and which of the parades are best to see, the one in DL, the electric one, or the beach bash (or combinations). Not sure we can swing them all. Any other advice is most appreciated, I am open to any and all suggestions :) Looks like the weather might be rough, but we are from Canada, so hopefully we can tough it out. Thanks in advance for the input.

If I had to choose from the three parades I would try the Electrical Light Parade. It has been one of my favorites for a long time. The Christmas Parade at DL would be my second choice with Block Party Third. Block Party is nice if you can find a spot in one of the zones where the parade stops. We got a block party bash ball once.

The temperature while you are here is going to be nice for you but it might rain every day next week or at least close to it. You can still make it through alright just bring an umbrella.

Thanks for the advice, I was really torn on the parade thing with kids, I don't want to overwelm them and have it not be fun. We have rented a house so we can go home and relax as well since we are a big group with my extended family. How do you think the crowds will be, any guesses?

I think if I had to choose I would choose Electrical Light Parade. I loved it as a kid and my 3 year old DD LOVES it!!

Make sure everyone has a pancho too. That will make a huge difference. When we went when it was raining, we all had panchos and umbrellas too. Pack some extra socks too.

Electrical Parade is hands down my favorite parade. I also thought that Block Party Bash was a great parade too. They get the kids to come up and participate and it is just fascinating to see their acrobatics. I haven't seen the Christmas one so I can't comment on it.

My guess would be that Sunday will be busy. Most of the locals will try and go before getting back to work/school. The rain might keep people away. Starting Monday it should be really nice. All of the local students will return to school and it will cut down a lot of the crowd.

With two little ones you might want to consider the Block Party Bash. They might enjoy the structure of this parade and it wont be late at night. I'm not sure if the parade will stop with the rain (or even go at all).
