View Full Version : Transportation from Ontario Airport to DLR area
MommyTo2Boys1Girl 12-31-2007, 09:32 PM We are staying at Howard Johnsons in May for 5 nights. I am trying to find flights so that we don't have to change airplanes etc. We can go on DH's benefits on other airlines, he is a pilot for US Airways, and can go non-stop from Spokane to LAX, LGB or ONT on Horizon Air or XJet. If we go on US Airways, we have to change planes in Phoenix. I know the options for transportation to our hotel from LAX and LGB, but am not sure about ONT Airport.
TIA!
HobbitFeet 12-31-2007, 11:48 PM We took super shuttle. $40 something for the first person and $9 for each additional person 3 and over, up to something like 9 people. It was fine, though the driver was absolutely insane, on the phone, on his headset, texting on two different phones at once...yikes!
It's a bit of a hike, though...in the future I'll very likely try to take a flight to SNA instead.
MommyTo2Boys1Girl 01-01-2008, 12:00 AM We have always used Super Shuttle in the past, and have always flown in to SNA. It is SO convenient to fly in there, and we love how close it is to the DLR area. But DH and I both would REALLY love to not have to change planes. Not sure if we will regret that or not, having a longer shuttle ride. Flying in to LGB is another option. We can take XJet non-stop in there from Spokane, and the flight times were really decent too.
Thanks for the info about cost. There would be 5 of us. DH and I, our boys who will be 6 and 4, and the baby will be 2 months.

LGB is closer than Ontario. 405 S to 22 East to Harbor, or 5 north to Harbor. probably a 30 min ride (without any major stops).
stan4d_steph 01-01-2008, 06:50 AM Check out this recent thread for information (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=80646&highlight=ontario).
adriennek 01-01-2008, 10:40 AM Long Beach is closer, but if you have to fly into Ontario, like I posted in that other thread, it's a lovely airport. Sorry I don't have any info about transportation. My answer would be "Well I check the website to see if Doc's flight is on-time, then I leave about 15 minutes before he's due to land and loop around or park and meet him at the baggage claim area." ;)

MommyTo2Boys1Girl 01-01-2008, 06:26 PM Yeah, I know that LGB is closer than ONT and we might just go that route, if we take Xjet. There is only 1 flight per day out of Spokane to LGB on them, but it has decent times. The fares were really good too. In fact, the rate that DH would be able to get us standby, using his benefits, would only save us about $50/ticket, not worth the standby hassle, IMHO.
Looks like we will either be coming in to LGB or SNA.
Does Super Shuttle pick up at LBG? Anyone know?
Adrienne, you made me LOL!
Darkbeer 01-01-2008, 06:38 PM A taxi from Long Beach to the Disneyland Resort area is $36 plus tip, fixed rate.
The taxi back to the airport is closer to $45 plus tip, as it is by the meter.
Shuttle Vans do service Long Beach, but the iIsneyland Express does not.
Also, check out the rental car fares, Hotwire usually has some good fares under $20 per day.

Probably the same driver I had back in Oct. Scared the 'heck' out of me. The driver on the way back was better. Ont. is the only 'direct' flight other than LAX from here. (I hope x-jet stays in business)
