Hi All,

We will be leaving in 3 weeks for a two night stay at the DLH. We have always requested and stayed in the Dreams/Sierra tower for it's proximity to DTD but I was wondering if there were any advantages to staying in one of the other towers.

My priorities are size of the room, size of the room and size of the room ;) The view type doesn't matter much to me since I like the quiet of the standard view rooms.

Last time we stayed our room in the Dreams tower seemed a little on the "worn" side. I understand that they're planning a major refurb of the hotel but I was curious to know if one of the other towers might not be as old....

Thanks!

Jen:)

Hi. I used to work at the DLH Front Desk so I hope this information helps you.

Sierra has the smallest rooms on average. Sierra has the most traffic noise from DTD, the Lost Bar, and the three elevators that are in the tower. Sierra also has those stupid "foyer" rooms as well as those obstructed view DTD-view rooms (which are considered to be standard view as well, due to the view).

Bonita has the largest rooms on average, the least amount of foot traffic noise (because their elevator is built AWAY from the main hallway), a large vending machine area in the tower lobby, and the least amount of general noise (since their Standard view rooms face away from the Resort). Also, if you get a room on the highest floor (14th), you get a full balcony.

Marina's standard view rooms have a view of the fireworks, are generally less noisy (not as much as Bonita standard view rooms are), and is convenient because of the location and because it's the same tower as the main check-in lobby.

I never understood people's obsession with Sierra because "it's so much closer to DTD". Complete BS. It takes an extra minute of walking to go from the entrance to the Bonita Tower to the backside of Sierra (where you can cut across the tower lobby to get to the other side) and that's if you walk slow. I used to be able to walk from the entrance to Bonita to the entrance to Marina in about a minute and Sierra is in the middle of both. Sierra is highly overrated.

Burnt Toast....

Thank you SO much for the informative reply! I will try to get the Bonita Tower (or whatever they're calling it now).

We just stayed in the tower with the Main Lobby and loved it! It was closest to the front desk (if you lose room key, room charge card, etc.), the snack area for the quick breakfast, the gift shop, parking, etc. The room did seem larger than rooms we have stayed at in the Sierra Tower. We asked for a room with 2 Queens and also used the port-a-crib and had plenty of room.

Bonita is now WONDER

Marina is now MAGIC (the building that has the lobby)

And Sierra is now DREAMS

We stayed in Bonita/Wonder with a park view and it was AWESOME! I enjoy looking at the mountains late at night and keeping an eye on the line at the monorail in the morning...

That's right... forgot about that.

The City/Standard View rooms in Bonita (now whatever they are calling it, I just forgot even though Darkbeer posted it) has views of the city, are the quietest rooms on property... and have an awesome view of Paradise Pier.

... and we all know how awesome Paradise Pier looks at night. It really does.
