:cool:Okay, so we are going Jan.1-8 2008. Our kids are old enough now to go to a water park and the weather report for next week is less than optimal. For those of you who frequent the water parks what is the minimum temp you can still enjoy the water parks in? The kids are really looking forward to this and I added the water park fun and more option to my ticket so I would reall like to utilize it. I don't want to be miserable in the process though. :D Help!

We keep the water in all the slides and pools around 80F (27C) except for Shark Reef which does not have filters, pumps or heaters. What you want is a day that will be bright and sunny and preferably not windy.

If you go on a day that is heavily overcast you will not be able to take advantage of any radiant heating (from the sun) or on a windy day (especially with a dry wind from the North) you will get hit by wind chill.

But a day with the highs in the mid-50s or above which is sunny and calm most people (at least from Northern climates) should be comfortable.

And starting the 5th the daily highs are expected to be back into the low 80s.

Thanks Cheshire Figment :D I'm feeling so much more confident going now. We are in the north so anything is a heat wave compared to the 19 degrees we are seeing today  I really appreciate your help.

It would seem to me being in the water would be much less an issue than walking through the park and relaxing on the chairs, especially while wet. A lot of people in my water exercise classes invest in thermal jackets and/or pants, that they wear in the water, if they get chilled easily. Sort of like a wetsuit but lighter, and it allows a full range of motion. It may not be worth the investment to use once, especially for the kids, but I wonder if you can borrow or rent something like that, for the day. We have gone in the outdoor hotel pool in the winter, and my kids minded the cold getting in and out of the pool a lot less than I did, but we were not out of the water very much.

At thanksgiving, we loved the quiet pool late at night near our building at POR. It was great to have a nice swim to soothe the muscles...although we did move pretty fast back to our towels when we got out of the water! :p

I went to Blizzard Beach yesterday. It was cloudy, sometimes drizzly and windy. The only reason I went was it was the last day before it closes for refurbishment and I had a free ticket. But it was really too cold for me. The high temp was supposed to be around 76 degrees but it felt cooler to me. The water itself was nice, once I got in and got used to it. And there were others enjoying it, probably people from up north! But when I got out of the water, ooh boy, chilly! I actually turned purple.
