Has anyone had to have 2 reservations for rooms in 1 trip?
Same hotel, same bedding type, same room type, same rate.
We were able to get concierge rooms at GCH for 2 nights initially at the AP4 rate. I was fortunate (after many, many, many phone calls) able to get another night also, but the lady helping me wasn't able to just add it to my existing reservations. so rather than not loose that rate and night, she just made the reservation for me, with a note that we have a continuous reservation.
No one seems to be able to guarantee me that i won't have to check out of the room...and i sooooo really don't want to because what a waste of time!
Any thoughts?

i have the same situation going for my wdw trip in jan/feb. i had one reservation, then scored a great AP rate for the first 9 nights, so had to create a new reservation. then had to change the first reservation to cover just the last night. to make things more interesting, i have paid a deposit on each reservation and as the first reservation was for the full price of one night; and we have since changed the reservation to the AP rate, I have actually paid $60 more for the night, than the reservation is actually for! my travel agent says that when I check in, they will just roll them together and credit the extra from the first (last night) reservation to the total for the second (the first 9 nights) reservation!!! in other words, she says I will not have to check in and out.... I have done this (merged different reservations) at other non-disney hotels before and it has never been a problem, but the disney reservation system seems to be incredibly complication so I am just in wait-and-see mode.... good luck!

I have (not at Disney though.) It was a PITA for us. First, they wanted to move us, I had to fight that (4 of us plus 2 dogs and kennels makes for a lot of work), then they forgot they did this and de-keyed the room, locking us out. Then when they fixed that, they then didn't leave my CC on the second reservation, so then it screwed up getting room service. To top it all off, when they got it fixed, they didn't move the info that we had service dogs in the room and my youngest daughter was in the room when security came to the door to question her about someone reporting seeing a dog entering our room. (Youngest daughter doesn't handle questioning well...) It was the trip from hell.
I don't think Disney can screw up this bad.

We had this at the DLH a couple of years ago. We had an ap rate for part of the stay and an online reservation for the other. When we went to check in the first time (it wasn't after the check in time and our room wasn't ready) we asked the man about the two separate reservations. He said that we would have to check in today, check out the day the first reservation ended and check back in that day after the check in time, moving luggage also because they could not guarantee that we would have the same room. This is also what the reservation person on the phone had told us. When it was time to check in and the room was ready, we had a different person helping us. We'd told her what was previously told to us and asked if there was anyway around it. She said absolutely, punched some stuff in the computer and told us to call the front desk on our 1st check out day before the checkout time, let them know that our second reservation was starting and we were checking out of our 1st reservation. We called before we went to the park on the day of our 1st checkout, checked back in over the phone and were off to the park. It took under two minutes and was a breeze. Needless to say, we were really happy with the second hotel person that we talked to. She made it so much easier than we'd been told it was going to be.
