View Full Version : If you only had one day...
rentayenta 11-19-2007, 12:42 PM This was sparked by a post in the countdown thread.
If you only had one day at WDW, which park(s) would you do and why?
I would go to MK all day, no hopping at all. I chose MK because it's the closest to Disneyland and the magic is alive there. I am sure my DH would choose MGM.
Your turn...............
Andrew 11-19-2007, 12:45 PM Epcot, and mostly in the World Showcase.

Why? :D
Drince88 11-19-2007, 12:48 PM Right now, it'd probably be Epcot - or hopping with Epcot and another park.
It depends a lot on the time of the year (if Christmas time, Food & Wine Fest time, or Flower & Garden show time, Epcot would be a MUST; I missed Christmas time at the Studios last year, so that would be on the list for hopping if it was this year.) Also depends on what new attractions have opened up since my last visit or what's down for refurb (if EE was down, I would likely not hop to AK). Who am I with and what is there experience/desire? How long has it been since I've visited? When's my next visit? What are the hours, and do I have EMH rights?
So many variables that would have to go into making that decision - but in short, it'd likely be Epcot with hopping.
Andrew 11-19-2007, 12:49 PM Why? :D
Oh, you wanted details?
Epcot is our favorite park, hands down, and we can spend hours going from one end of the World Showcase to the other. Seeing the streetmosphere shows, shopping, snacking around the world. And we always seem to run into someone we know, too.
DisneylandForever 11-19-2007, 03:51 PM If it was just me? I would start the day in MK, and end in Epcot. Disneyland is vastly superior to the MK IMO, so I'd mainly do the stuff you couldn't do in DL (CoP, Philharmagic, I like their Space better, TTA, etc). I'd end the day in Epcot because it's my favorite Park. If I had time, I'd sneak a quick trip to MGM for an hour or so in between (just enough time to do RnR, GMR and OMD). :)
It would probably be...
8a-1p, MK
1:30p-3p, MGM
3:20p-9:30p (or midnight if it was EMH), Epcot
:geek:
danyoung 11-20-2007, 12:01 PM Similar to DF, I'd just do 2 parks - start in the MK, during early entry, and then finish up in Epcot. Ride some rides early in the afternoon, have a nice dinner at the Coral Reef, followed by drinks at the Rose & Crown, IllumiNations, and a leisurely walk around the World Showcase Lagoon as the other sheep are storming for the exits. A perfect day!
MousePaul 11-21-2007, 12:04 PM Interesting how no one has mentioned AK for their day visit. I think it is a better park than Studios and would go to AK before Studios. I have been to Disney for one day plenty and usually manage at least three parks. I have done all four with EMH. The Studios for me is just an RNR and TOT visit. AK though is EE and KS but it is also the atmosphere and you have to take in Nemo or Lion King if you can as well. The perfect day would be for me early entry to AK to start (you can do KS and EE with fast pass pretty easy early) followed by a quick later morning visit to Studios for RNR and TOT with early afternoon into Dinner at Epcot and finishing with late EMH at MK (I like MK best at night).
This assumes though that I can get on all of my fav rides either FP or with small waits! A Dream FP for all of the parks would be perfect! :)
scoobydooby 11-21-2007, 01:20 PM DH and I on our own Epcot; Soarin, Test Track, a few other attractions then hours ambling around World Showcase.
With the children - MK, starting early with EMH cramming all the good stuff in until mid afternoon then a few hours floating and swimming somewhere.
Completely on my own. MK with an EMH start commando style doing every single last thing, apart from Hall Of Presidents and Toon Town.
dawz1026 11-23-2007, 04:10 AM Tough question....MK with the kids because my ds's little face speaks for itself on all the rides...especially Small World...Epcot if dh and myself because its so tranquil at night all lit up with street lights and also the fine dining...Alone...AK because I couls watch those Gorillas all day long..they facinate me with there size and strength and I love animals:p
passthepixiedust 11-23-2007, 08:21 PM Mine is almost exactly the same as Keith's, more specifically though:
am:
-MK walking down Main Street at opening is awesome, the castle looks particularly impressive at the start of the day to me, don't know why!
-I would do Philharmagic (I love listening to the people around me during the show, first timers are always blown away and the kids.... well, I choke up thinking about it!)
-I would do CoP (wouldn't seem like wdw if I didn't, thanks for that, Keith)
-grab some Figaro Fries from Village Haus
-ride the TTA
-Splash, OMG. LOVE WDW's Splash!!
-HM (the new effects are TOO cool!)
midday:
-duck into MGM just long enough to do RnR and GMR! RnR is just amazing to me and I am a huge old movie buff and couldn't bear to miss Gene Kelly and crew.... the montage at the end.... so good!!!!
Epcot:
-Nemo (I love it!!!Especially the song)
-SE (SOOOO excited to see the updates!)
-then I would just wander the World Showcase, riding in Mexico (would it even be possible to NOT love that ride???), watching American Adventure (I find it touching and am a huge Mark Twain fan, too!) and Oh! Canada (cause it is the patriotic thing to do!) until they booted me out!
***Almost forgot to add the Chocolate Mousse! That would be tragic! Epcot without Chocolate Mousse is just......WRONG!
disneygirl17 11-27-2007, 05:33 AM MK - I am going to pirate and princess party (1/21). So I will be there from 4-12. Wishes is at 6:30 so I will see 2 fireworks shows and the parade. Plus I am hoping that the rides will have minimal lines. It will be a teaser for our upcoming longer trip in December of 2008.
3disneyangels 12-02-2007, 02:14 PM If i had one day i would spend the whole day at MK, get there early go to fantasyland, have lunch at cinderella's royal table, get pictures with the princesses, see the parade go to adventureland get pictures with rafiki and timon, grab a dole whip, pictures with aladdin, jasmine and the genie, go on pirates and take pictures with captain hook and mr smee walk over to frontierland get fastpasses for splash mountain, grab a nap at the country bears then head over to the pin store, get on the riverboat, haunted mansion and have dinner at liberty tavern, go to SpM grab a seat for the fireworks and hopefully spectromagic (love this parade) try to get on btrr then head home.
