WDW Countdown thread- it's fun!

I'm BAACK! Sorry I've been MIA lately. Dad's got cancer, and it's been really busy with just "LIFE."

ANYHOO, I'm here to say that I'm "this" close to booking a trip for MouseFest 08. That puts me in the 340 day window, give or take a few days. I'll be able to decide "for sure" in March when we know how Dad is responding to treatment. It will be a solo trip, as DH will have to stay home and play Mr. Mom. Sounds good to me!

I hope I don't get in trouble for being here :D, but just had to stop by to say that I just started my countdown clock for a DLR trip this June! It's funny, most of the people on the DLR countown thread are from CA, AZ, WA or other western states, whereas many, if not most of the people on the WDW countdown thread are quite a ways away from WDW. Just an observation. And no, the *%&(%& is not coming!! It's just going to be me, my son and my daughter!

Nope, a definite rift has occurred, sadly.

As far as rhyming, yeesh, probably not until I get a bit closer, if ever; they're a different crowd over there; not sure how they'd take it.:D I can't wait: "In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room...!" Yippee!

This will be my first time at WDW - myself and my 14 year old son. After 48 years of going to DL (I grew up in SoCal) I can't even begin to imagine what this is going to be like - but I'm sure I'll be overwhelmed at everything! Someone once asked me how many times I've been to DL. Well...the counting was easy after I left california in 1989 - about 50 times. But 1959 - 1989? 100's!!! easily! So I know that park inside and out - literally (I also worked there in the 70's).

But WDW? I'm so excited and scared in a wierd way. Going to Disney but not knowing it? How odd.

Anyway...

we pull into the Pop Century on august 3 and depart on august 9 2008.!

I got out all the summer clothes last night and set aside those that we are taking. I'll finish packing tonight or tomorrow...yeah -right! can you say still doing stuff on Friday morning?

I'm floating on something...here I thought it was all the paperwork related to what I need to get done before we leave:rolleyes: We were supposed to make an offer on a house this week, but just found out the owner is going away for two weeks, so we'll have to wait till we get back.

ugh - yes:rolleyes:...we thought about moving back to Delaware (as it is we are only about 5-10 min. from Middletown, De) but we're lucky enough to be in a good school system, in particular a decent middle school. And of course - as you probably know, a lot of folks just got the property tax assessment.

gawd that man irks me....anyway - we really like it here on the Eastern Shore.

I can't determine the number of days because we haven't picked our dates, but my husband and I just agreed that we'll go sometime in 2009! It'll be our sons' first trip; they'll be 2 and 4!

They just raised my house over $100,000 3 years ago and now they are raising it another $50,000.
