I've used Vacation Planning for the gifts baskets with mixed results but still very satisfied.

For an anniversary I had a basket delivered and it was there waiting for us when we got to our room around 6pm. It was perfect.

For a December trip I was supposed to have a tree and stocking set up by the time we got to the room and it didn't make it to us until around 6pm and we checked in around 4pm, so the surprise wasn't what I was looking for. The tree and stocking were wonderful, I was just disappointed that it wasn't waiting for us.

I believe they guarantee delivery around 5ish so your satisfaction might depend on how you want the presentation. Is it extra important that it be there the first day when you walk in the door? Or is it okay if it is delivered while you're unpacking? They are very well made and I think worth the $$ for a special occasion.

The basket we got for our anniversary was similar to the Chocolate Lover's and the basket was shaped like a mickey head.

I've had baskets delivered to our room at the DLH three times, and have been VERY happy with each one. They add a lot of nice touches -- the ribbon they use has Mickey on it, they usually include not only a quality card, but a photo as well. The quality of the food items has always been great. Ours have always been in the room waiting, but that may be because we've always gone back to the room after dark. No complaints from us -- they've been well worth the $.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer here, but my/our experience with Vacation Planning and surprises stank this past July. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and had ordered a balloon bouquet and the chocolate lovers basket to be delivered between 4-6 pm. We took the birthday boy out to dinner during the window to keep the surprise going, I noticed a basket matching our order at the bell desk when we left and asked about it...they knew it was from vacation planning but didn't know what room it was scheduled for...ok it's a big hotel it might not be 'ours'.....we come back from dinner it's well after our window and yep that basket is still sitting there and the voices in my head said you need to follow up and ask again, so I did, and come to find out it was the one we had ordered ....keep in mind this is mid summer, it's a chocolate lovers basket...lots of chocolate candies inside...after a conversation with the bell desk and some agravation on my part we just took the basket with us (so much for that half of the suprise) we got to our room and surprisingly the balloon bouquet was in the room but the quality left much to be desired....the milar balloons were fine, the latex balloons were already losing their oomph ....and that bouquet was not inexpensive. So just a buyer beware, everyones mileage may vary when it comes to the quality and service from Vacation planning.
