Hello everyone,

I am planning our family's first trip to WDW. While there, we would like to spend a day at Seaworld. I would rather not mess with a rental car if at all possible. I would appreciate any suggestions on the best way to get to Seaworld from Pop Century without a car. Thanks in advance!

You can take a taxi or a shuttle but a rental car may be cheaper.

Im with Jen on this... For around the same price you have complete control over that part of your trip. I know you mentioned that you did not want to rent one but you may come out ahead from both a financial and sanity perspective.

Renting for a day will also give you a 24 hr period of time to keep the car. You can do a lot more for the money spent in that time than if you just tried to "cab-it."

Thanks for the advice, I believe that I will rent a car for the day. This may be a silly question, but are there car rental options within WDW? Thanks!

Yes, Alamo has a station at the Disney Car Care Center. When you make your reservation, be sure to specify pick up/drop off at there. The rates are slightly higher than the airport rentals, but the convenience is what you pay for. Call the Car Care Center the day before to arrange a pick up time from your hotel. Alamo will send a shuttle to pick you up, and will drop you off after your rental return.

There is a charge to park at Sea World (Disney is $11 now, I would assume Sea World is too) but the convenience of having your own vehicle to explore some Orlando restaurants, maybe shop for a few supplies, etc. will outweigh the rental and parking fees. If you do none of those, just being able to come and go on your own schedule is well worth the the cost.

If you go to the Transportation and Ticket Center or Downtown Disney you can catch a Lynx express bus. They have one that goes from the downtown main station direct to Sea World and then direct to Disney World. The system is www.golynx.com , click on Routes and Maps. The express bus is #50. There are other buses numbered in the 300 series that include WDW. The one way fare is $1.50 per person (under age 6 is free).

ANother vote for the rental car. Even with the Magical Express option now, we still use a rental car. In the grand scheme of WDW vacation costs, the rental car doesn't add a whole lot and it gives you a lot more freedom.
