Hi There, I see that Splash Mountain will be under refurbishment from early Feb until Feb 16. We are there from Feb 3-16 and this is the one ride my daughter was soooo looking forward to. Does anyone know if the dates are firm (ie do they ever finish early and open it up a few days ahead or is it more likely that they would go longer?). Thanks for any advice you may have.

I think the easiest way to answer your question is that there is always a chance that it will open early or remain closed for a longer time than planned. Many refurbs go well and open when expected if not even have some soft openings early. However, until it actually opens up, no one will really know.

I would say that to help the situation, prepare for the worst and jump on it if it happens to be open as you walk by.

According to this week's Mouseplanet update, SM will be closed from January 1 through February 15th. If you're not leaving till the 16th, perhaps you could catch a quick ride first thing in the morning before leaving. I'd say that there's a better than average chance that they'll be doing soft openings for testing purposes in the last days of the refurb, so you might just want to check in up there from time to time and see if you get lucky.
