How far in advance can I buy an annual pass before I have to activate it? From what I have read, it sounds like you buy it and get a certificate, then when you go to the park and activate it the year starts then. Or does the year start when you purchase the certificate? A friend told me that I should watch out for price increases on the regular AP starting Jan 1 2008, but I haven't been able to find anything about price changes. If I buy it now for a trip in Aug of 08 and May of 09 will it still be good? Also if prices go up, will I have to pay the difference if I don't activate it until Aug of 08?

At the current time AP Vouchers remain valid until such time as they are converted to an actual AP. As long as you have the voucher in hand it will be exchanged for the level of AP purchased, no matter how many price changes have gone into effect between the time you buy the voucher and the time you use it.

Once you convert the voucher to an actual AP (which can be doine at any Park ticket window or Guest Relations Office) the AP will be valid through midnight of the same date the following year.

There have been rumors circulating (since the last price increase in August) that vouchers issued starting 1/1/08 may only be valid for one year from date of purchase, but that is unconfirmed. Also, even if that rule does go into effect, it cannot affect already existing vouchers.

Additionally, you won't see anything 'official' about price increases until RIGHT before the increase, if at all. In August, it was announced on a Thurs or Fri that it would be coming on Sunday, and then the online ticket buying option wasn't available the whole time. The prior knowledge was negated by the fact that you couldn't do anything with it!

I think that was the first time that I'd seen anything official about a price increase before the increase actually occurred.

THANKS!!! :) I think I'll get them now since I'm trying to rack up my miles points on the credit card (before paying the airfare)
