It was closed every day we were in the MK in May-even Mother's Day which was a surprise. Pirate y Perico, right?

It was open 6/07. It was really busy, and very stinky. My kids didn't even want to stop to watch the pirate tutorial because the whole courtyard area there smelled. "Everyone run past the stinky tacos!" We ate there years ago, and it was good. But it was definitely an olefactory experience last time!

Pirate y Perico, right?

In Spanish, El Pirata y El Perico. In English, The Pirate and the Parrot. I've had their tacos before, and they were ok, but nothing to write home about.

I don't think they even did chicken tacos - just the plain beef ones. I could be wrong, though.

Don't recall about chicken -but a couple years ago when I was there with my vegetarian sister, we got her a veggie burrito (or something similar) there, because the choices at Pecos Bills (where we were 'officially' eating) weren't that appealing to her.

Here is a link to the menu from allears.net.

We ate there in June 2006. It was ok. Nothing great, but not bad either. I did like the fact that you get to put your own fixins on your taco.

I must hit it wrong, because in my 5 most recent trips, it's never been open. I love tacos--wish they would keep it open all of the time!

We enjoyed this restaurant in Feb. '06 but I was really disappointed to see that the menu has changed. The beef empanadas were fantastic! Oh well, it probably won't be open anyway when we go in February!
