Who: Me, MickeyDogMom, Escape Artist, EA's gf, Nephew- Wills (4), Niece Bella (6)- Joining us on the 29th, my sister, and younger niece (1) and nephew (2)
Stayed at: Hojos!
We decided to visit for Halloween. It was GREAT. It had been a while since I had been in charge of 2 young ones. MDM got a taste of what that age is like. Now, my niece and nephew are very well behaved kids. What we really appreciated - These kids EAT! We picked them up at my work. My sister had dropped them off before she left for her trip. She had left their cars seats and bags ready. I told them as soon as MDM arrived, we would be heading to Disneyland. All Wills could say was "I love Disneyland!!!!" I was in my office when MDM arrived. She described pulling in to see Wills running across the driveway, dragging two car boosters behind him, while Bella had both bags in tow, yelling Let's go to Disneyland! We loaded them up and MDM headed to get some lunch. While getting her lunch, she asked if they were hungry, which was the first of many "I'm humgry!"s. They each had a Taco Bell burrito and soda, and off we go. Two hours on the road, we pull in for a bathroom break, only to hear the famous "I'm hungry", so we fueled them up and the car. Two hours later, we are crossing the Grapevine, and guess what we hear... Uh huh, they are hungry (its now about 7 or so.) So, we feed them (chicken nuggets AND a hamburger from McDs, with fries and soda...) Back on the road and we reach Hojo's about 1030pm. We check in, get them beded down and I though I would relax, watch a little Friends as I dozed off... On came a Carl's Jr commercial for their new milkshakes... From this little voice, I hear "I'm hungry, I want a milkshake". Now, me and MDM are busting up. We are worried about our food budget!!!!! But they go to sleep...
Sat - Up and at them early! Deckert's delivered my scooter and it was waiting. MDM, dogs, kids, and I head to Disneyland. Head first to Cafe Orleans to feed the hungry ones. Here they are plotting the day. (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q133/Malcon10t/Plotting.jpg) Order Cafe Scrambled for me and MDM, waffles for one kid, scrambled eggs for the other, and an order of beignets. Normally, MDM and I would split a breakfast and the beignets, but with the kids, we decided to both order meals and give the kids extra, and they ate it all! And they each had a beignet. Really great start. We headed to do Pirates, which they loved, then off to HMH. Bella wasn't sure about it, but loved "Halloween/Christmas" after the first time. After a few more rides, it was time to go relax, then over to Goofy's for dinner. EA had joined us, and we had a great meal. I will say it was one of the first times we every got our moneys worth from the food. The kids loved seeing all the characters, and plenty of food. Wills was more interested in the food, but did take time to see Minnie (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q133/Malcon10t/Minnieandwills.jpg). Back to the park, where we rode all the rides, and Wills rde with MDM and EA (and GF) on the fast rides. Bella didn't want to try the fast ones, so she waited with me and dog.
Sun - Breakfast again since it worked well. Then headed to Fantasyland, and hit all the rides there. Kids had a blast. A short break in the afternoon, back for an evening. We did come back from the park about 9 and watched fireworks from the hotel room. Kids reenacted every boom.
Mon - My sister arrived late the night before, and all were ready to head to the park by 9. We hit a few rides, then headed to see Billy Hill. MDM joined us we then headed back to Fantasyland, rode Nemo, Buzz (2yo LOVED Buzz) then about 430, headed back to change into costumes (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q133/Malcon10t/KidsCostume.jpg). Were back in DCA by 630 and LOVED MHT!!!!! The kids had a blast! ANd no one could believe the amount of candy we got.
Tues - We relaxed, slept in, did a little shopping, and headed home. It was a great trip.
